My first thought was that instead of sitting down and eating with Bobby, she left. They didn't really show how long she was gone. He's eating alone--tells others they can't sit there because Mom is coming back. And finally he thinks she's dumped him as usual so he gives up on her and trades away her food in anger. Then when she comes back, he's afraid to tell her that so he just apologizes, knowing that she will never let him forget anyway. Otherwise, why would he do it considering how happy he was to have her with him?

I was amazed at both Joanie and Peggy's attitude toward Don. As close as he was with both of them, they aren't willing to forgive and understand that he had a meltdown? I don't think either of them thinks she can be a better ad man than Don, so why not have him at the top? Yeah, Peggy is better than Lou, but is she ever going to get his job?

Well they hadn't brought it up again this season, but Betty is presumably still dieting heavily and attending weight watchers after all the weight she'd put on previously.

It was still wrong for Bobby to give away her sandwich without asking, but he might honestly (if mistakenly) thought that if she hadn't taken it by then that she was (as was likely often the case) skipping lunch.

(See how, despite missing lunch, she "wasn't hungry" at/for dinner)

At least Betty didn't yell "Oh, you're gonna mope? I'll give you something to mope about!"

I thought that Bette talking to her Travel Agent friend might have been the motivation to go with Bobby. Either because she said staying in the house all day was dull or because her kids had grown and left and she wanted to connect before that happen with Bobby like it did with her sister.

I never talk to the TV but when they gave Don that laundry list of conditions I said, "Yeah, right." When he agreed to it I said, "Really?" It surprised me but as I thought about it, it made sense. He is going down that path. Not going up to that girl's room was another step on that path. I think he is going to take his "punishment" and come out the other side a better man for it. We shall see if he can keep it up. Find out if the real Don will come back or if this is the real Don...or should I say Dick.

Don't forget that he turned down a shot with Neve Campbell a couple episodes ago, and then in this episode we see that he clearly has a shot with that stewardess anytime he wants, yet he's been faithful to Megan and even stayed sober on his cross-country flight to be present for her when he arrived. I think they've made it pretty clear that Don is trying to change. Whether he'll be able to stick with the changes when things get more stressful remains to be seen.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet that there will be a time when Don falls off the redemption train. It's usually the way things go on TV or the movies.

And it was interesting how Megan didn't believe him for a second. "I was your secretary remember!"

With the pause in the dialog I though for sure he'd say "Screw you. Buy me out." He must feel chastened.

Personally I hope not, since it is the final season, but I may be in the minority.

I didn't think chastened but rather that hey he could handle all that and more.

or just, I am going to do it the right way this time. If these people think that this is what I need to make them except me, again. I will do it. I will prove to them that this is not an act....that was.

This might make make him a better person but not necessarily a good (m)ad man.

I hope not as well. I kinda like the "new" Don. But I've seen enough TV to know that it's not likely to stick.

IANAL so I don't understand how the firm could simply "absorb" Don's partnership interest without compensation.

If he signs on the dotted line they can do anything. It could be a structured as a buyback for $1.

I rarely talk at the teevee, but that's what I was yelling before he became a ***** and said "OK"...
