I just finished the 4th Season yesterday. So good. The story was good, the production was good. I really missed this show. And now after watching 4 I'm really looking forward to season 5.

    Well done, Netflix, well done.

    They really upped their game.

And they sure tipped over a lot of apple carts at the end! I'm really curious to find out what happens next. Assuming I do.

So who exactly is suing Walt?

The estate of Barlow Connaly. It hasn't been revealed whether the wife or the minions of his corporation are the actors behind the suit; both would have standing but the wife would have a personal motivation.

Up until the last sequence I was thinking, "How nice of them to tie everything up so if they don't get renewed we'll have a completed story." I should have known better.

I'm only four episodes through this latest season but it seems to me now that Walt's lawyer daughter is going to be (involuntarily) involved somehow.

Are you sure his corporation (was it Big Timber?) would have standing to sue? I'm not sure an entity like a corporation would have standing to sue for wrongful death, especially in a Wyoming court.

Good season. Even the multi episode arcs were better this year.

Hey, corporations are people too! Some states allow all persons who suffer financially from the death to bring a wrongful death action for lost care or support, even if they are not related by blood or marriage to the victim. But IANAL.

It won't matter even if you are correct, "Longmire" takes place in a TV universe with different laws than our own; its legal system lies entirely in the mind of the scriptwriter. For example, in the "Longmire" universe, handguns must be registered, in our universe Wyoming has no gun registration system.

But I also think the widow is the more likely actor, since they made such a point of hiding her in plain sight at the funeral, and she might have a revenge motive. If it's the corporation the motive will be to neutralize Walt for some nefarious purpose.

Yay! Unfortunately this is one of the few shows I watch by myself, so it takes me longer to get through them (especially now that the fall season is starting) as I don't get much time for solo watching.

About 5 episodes in and really enjoying it. Netflix seems to understand what made me originally love this show ... it's one of the few shows where the story arc is often less interesting to me than the individual mysteries, and the balance the last 2 seasons has been spot on.

I am always amused by Longmires love of Rainier Beer. There is a line in this season where he mentions that Rainier is not available in bottles in Wyoming. This led me to remember my college days in the mid eighties attending college in a small Oregon town where the only beer we could afford was the Rainier 12 OZ bottles. We called them "Rain Doggies" and they were horrible. Rainier went out of business, I think it is just a brand nowadays, I am not sure if it is still the disgusting swill it used to be.

I wish they had started with about a 5 minute recap of season 4. My little grey cells needed a catch up.
