All the talk about Premiere / Elite LAN speed has gotten me thinking. I had this idea but wondered if any of it were possible.

I'm making a lot of assumptions here, so the first question is..

    1. Is it possible to send a curl or wget of files right through tivodecode via stdin/stdout and have the tivodecode output also go out stdout? I assume it has to be so because of how iTivo and kmttg work.
    2. These tools dump these streams through ffmpeg/mencoder/etc to generate more usable media files. Has anyone ever thought of using them to then broadcast an mpeg4 h.264 or ASP stream to an RTP or RTSP publishing point, and have an iOS device read from that stream live?
    3. Question 2, but via airplay instead of RTP/RTSP..

I may play around with this idea tonight but I was curious if anyone knew any efforts to do this, and/or if my wired Premiere is fast enough to run this conversion in realtime. My desktop isn't anything special but I think it could probably do low-res h.264 in realtime.
