Had a lightning strike about 50 feet from the house. It took out both my Tivo boxes (Model No#s TDC649080) cable modem network switch, as well as the vonage phone adapter and belkin surge protector on the phone protection portion. I took the cable modem apart to see what I could learn and found the chip connected to the network port balasted. Neither Tivo box responds but I took the hard drive out and it spins up and appears ok. Tried piggybacking it to the new tivo hard drive but the screen sticks at powering up. Any Ideas on how to get the recordings off before I send the box back?

Sorry to hear. Unforunately there's no way to recover those recordings, unless the Tivo that the drive is installed in can be repaired. It's because those recordings are tied to that Tivo's specific motherboard.
