    Thanks, Jerry

Yes. I never use Standby or power saving on my Roamio units. You will get other opinions. There are many threads on this topic.

All Tivos have been designed and built to be left on 24/7. That's why there's no off switch. This allows Tivo to record shows regardless of when they com on.

Thank you!! How do I get it out of standby? Almost every time I turn the TV on and my Pro on, I have to hit live TV to keep the Tivo pic to stay on.

    Thanks again

You must have power saving enabled. It's the last item in Remote, CableCard & Devices. Change it to manual.

Sorry, my Roamio has manual. Perhaps the Roamio Pro is different. But if it was "Off" then you have a different issue. Only the Mini has an idle timeout which brings up a screen saver. May I ask what software version you are running? The whole thing.

I ask because you have been on both the Hydra and Encore threads.

At least per my Roamio Pro running Encore/TE3/gen3/version 20.*, the "Power Saving Settings" options are:

    Manual (no power saving)
    Low
    Medium
    High (Maximum Power Savings)
    Not sure what Hydra offers.

Of course, you also need to avoid putting the DVR into Standby mode manually, via the menu. (Settings & Messages > Standby)

The same options. We could start a whole thread on Standby, power off and platform differences. But not here.

Ok, Hydra adds a layer of unknown. Hydra does say off, like you posted. Here's a problem. I think there is some CEC with Hydra, at least on the Mini VOX. You may wish to tell TiVo with this form: Contact Us but don't expect much.

Here's what I've seen. On a Mini VOX (Hydra) if I tell it to enter Standby and turn off its TV, the Mini never enters Standby. When I power it on, its still at a screen waiting for me to hit Select. If I watch it with the TV on it will enter Standby. Since my Roamio Hydra uses an AVR it must cause something else to happen. For now you may just have to live with it.
