Well, at least they didn't kill him. Jesse's been around about as long as Chris Noth and Ben Bratt combined. Gonna be weird not having him around.

Have to admit, I was surprised by the direction the case took when Bunny died, even though I had a hunch Ed's past gambling issues would come up somehow.

I did like Anthony Anderson as the replacement detective and I'm glad they didn't make him the usual Internal Affairs weasel we always see on TV.

Was also happy to hear Lenny's death acknowledged again.

I too was glad to hear Lenny's death brought up again. I thought it was a good overall episode and look forward to the guest-starring opportunities left available for Ed to show back up.

I didnt catch the episode. How did they write Martin' character out? Did they leave open the possibility of him guest starring sometime in the future?

Oddly, when I saw the announcement I was thinking of Anthony Edwards, who would have been an interesting choice. We'll have to see how Anderson pans out.

He was accused of killing a gambler to who he had owned money in the past. He was cleared of the crime but he resigned from the force.

I cried. Yes, I said that. He's been on the show for such a long time. I still miss the days of him and Lenny together. I'm really glad they acknowledged Lenny (and in my mind Jerry Orbach). I couldn't watch the show with Jesse Martin and not think of Jerry Orbach.

I like Anderson, we'll see how he fits in. So many new faces now, though I've been watching all along, it's just a lot of new faces.

You know, it would have been nice if they didn't promo the episode to death as "Jesse Martin's final episode".

Well, Doctor Rogers, the lady medical examiner, has been with the Franchise for a long time, about as long as Van Buren and McCoy.

I don't like how both Lupo and the new guy fell into their positions.

This is true, but her parts are usually fairly short in the episodes she is in. Also, she hasn't been in every episode of L&O, a good many of them, but not all of them.

I stumbled across an NBC promo for the episode that featured the fact that it was JM's last episode. Also the TV section of the NY Daily News that day (or maybe the day before) had a review of the episode that mentioned (possibly in the headline if I recall) that it was his last episode.

I didn't even know she was preggers.

I watched with my mom. I thought it was an okay episode. Mom cried at the end, I did not. I agree that it was really nice that they mentioned Lenny (I think that's what made mom cry).

I did not love the storyline, though.
