60 MINUTES... three new stories, including at least one on the pandemic. The content will be it's usual excellent quality... I can't say the same for the technical, as we are basically all editing from home without the benefit of our normal technical facilities as the CBS Broadcast Center has been closed due to concerns about Coronavirus. Several of us editors have spent the last few days getting all of the source footage, animation elements and everything else we need off the servers onto removable drives. The next few weeks are going to be an interesting experience in video post production.

Ironic that sitting in my home office, a more powerful edit system than the multi-million dollar rooms I used to fly. The only real weak spot for me is high quality audio and video monitoring.

Conan tweeted he’ll be back on the air March 30, shooting episodes on his iPhone and talking to guest via Skype.

That's pretty amazing. I had known that some on-screen personnel were doing work-from-home (e.g. on CBS This Morning), but then heard that this applied for the tech. side as well, and I just couldn't see how that could be done. :clapping:

Be careful, though--the accountants might suggest this as the new norm . . . . ;)

The Daily Show is actually putting up full length made at home episodes on YouTube. I know other late night hosts are doing a few minute clips, but Trevor Noah did a 17 minute episode.

The thing I'm waiting to see is whether the talent's hair and makeup people show up or not. It could get like the Batman movie on there!

As long as I get my dose of "the daily social distancing show", I can get through without the others.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver was aired last Sunday with no audience and was shot at a different location away from the regular studio. Samantha Bee's show is shot with only a handful of staff as the actual audience. I can't say I'm surprised that they're airing reruns of late night shows. They should air the Best Of Johnny Carson instead.

Not sure who owns those. I have been listening to the Carson channel on SiriusXM the last couple of days to get away from the virus talk.

New show title probably means a new series ID and a new Season Pass will need to be added. (just my guess)

Right, but my guide has episodes of 'The Office' for that time slot. :) I'll just watch the guide until tomorrow and if it stays the same I'll just manually record whatever is in the slot. I'm seeing that today's connection didn't fix it.

One of my two TiVo’s have the daily show at 11 now. With the right date and title (social distancing).

It's been a major effort, probably a lot of frayed nerves, mitigated by "Wow, I'm actually doing this!!!" A lot of great support from our tech support people. But yea, we are managing to get stuff out there. I don't think this would have been doable even 5 or 10 years ago.

Last Week Tonight airs Sunday nights on HBO. John Oliver is an alumni from the Daily Show with John Stewart and offers a recap of the week's news headlines with more than just a little bit of humor and sarcasm thrown in. A lot of the stories he covers are quite interesting. Full Frontal with Samantha Bee airs Wednesday evenings on TBS. She is also a Daily Show Alumni with a similar approach as John Oliver, but with a more liberal and feminist view as well as lots of humor.

My Tivo made a connection overnight and still has The Office. It doesn’t look like it got an update as the program to only goes to Wednesday 4/1.

Congratulations on the technical production of "60 Minutes" yesterday! But for current general circumstances and the announcement at the end, I never could have told that anything was any different. And the show was excellent, as always,

BTW, would you please write a short tutorial for your talk show on-screen colleagues (all networks) who are doing admirable jobs of appearing from their homes on their on-going shows (yeah!) but using the mikes on their laptops rather than even a cheap-o Amazon-purchased mike, sounding like they are living in shoeboxes? ;) I'd be happy to send Joy Behar ("The View") this $20 USB mike. :) https://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Condenser-Indicator-Gooseneck-Recording/dp/B07N2WRHMY/ref=sr_1_10?crid=1YC7VCJS3TNMJ&dchild=1&keywords=usb+microphone+for+computer&qid=1585020710&sprefix=usb+microphone,aps,674&sr=8-10
