I literally said "Oh my god" and turned it off after 2 minutes. People were complaining about laugh tracks on other shows but this was pretty much non stop laugh track and not funny at all. Did anyone make it further into the show? Did it get any better or at least funny?

Meh. I watched both episodes and enjoyed them. Mindless entertainment. I could see most of the jokes coming but still laughed at them. I guess I have lower standards for sitcoms than most people.

I only watched the first episode, but from what I saw, I enjoyed it. I plan to watch the second one whenever I have a chance.

I guess my sitcom standards are pretty low too.

Yep, same here. Even though I knew Kyle was going to stick his head through the banister, I still laughed when it happened.

The 2 oldest daughters look too much alike. I kept mixing up which one had the baby.

I really like Tim and Nancy so will watch just about anything with them in it.

    Definitely a keeper for me.

I think it got better after a bit. Especially once you found out Tim was actually good with the baby.

Agreed that the two older girls look too similar.

That must have happened in the second episode. I didn't make it that far. Won't be recording anymore.

I'm not sure what second episode you're referring to? There was 1 hour long episode that my TiVo recorded dated 10/11/11. The scene I mentioned was in that episode not a second episode (has a second episode even aired yet, hasn't there been just the one?)

No, it was two 1/2 hour episodes. The first was called "pilot" the second was called "Last Baby Proofing Standing".

Interesting, that's not how it showed up in my Guide data, nor how the recorded file showed up on my TiVo. It's 1 ep titled pilot, and is 1 hour long. Sorry if I ruined the banister joke for anyone.

Tim Allen just came off as mean, I liked Home Improvement but this seems to be taking it too far.

You didn't ruin anything for me. I wasn't planning on watching the second episode anyway. The bannister "joke" doesn't sound amusing enough to worry about it being spoiled.

Yes. Mean and sexist and racist etc. I kept thinking why would anyone marry someone like that? His character is a miserable person. Wouldn't want to be around him; don't want to watch him.

+1. I assume/hope that the show was to be about his overcoming all of these flaws, but I didn't want to wait. Stopped it after about 10 minutes.

    This sounds like Archie Bunker.

There is a big difference between All In The family and last Man Standing.
    As Alan Sepinwall puts it:
And there's humor to be mined from a prejudiced and/or reactionary character. See Archie Bunker, most famously, or Stacy Keach on "Titus," or even much of what Burditt and company had Jack Donaghy say and do on "30 Rock." But those shows told those jokes with more style, and usually had an awareness of the ludicrous and/or offensive nature of those characters' words and deeds. "Last Man Standing" doesn't.

I liked the show. And it really looked like the baby boy "Boyd" is the same kid(s) who plays Harrison Morgan on "Dexter", but is uncredited on IMDb.
