I was surprised by the "mini-movie" that was in the middle of the episode. I'm not quite sure whether I liked it, but I did watch all three minutes of it, so if they were trying to do an embedded commercial to catch the DVR users, I guess it worked on me.

It was no more in the middle than any other commercial. Yes, it featured three briefly-seen people from the episode, but it was clearly enough a commercial to allow for FF...

wasn't it more like at the 50 minute mark? Good transition to make you wonder this part of the show? Doing it in HD was a must to keep that going. Only took a minute to realize it was a commercial, especially with the chevy thing, but still, innovative and nice.

I'm glad monica wasn't back..ick. Good story on it though. they should mark everyone's credit report as 'deceased' when they die. it would prevent so much.

the transition was fairly seamless. I really thought it was still part of the show till they Chevy symbol got jammed down my throat.

Not a bad episode. I think they'd do better by keeping around some competition for Sam than having her kick their butt within one episode.

That's right kids, when you have a problem, get your father and go beat the crap out of the guy who did you wrong. That's the way to resolve problems.

Although I gotta admit it was funny.

And stupid (storywise). She has a restaraunt, she won't date me if she works at the restaraunt, ah ha! I'll close the restaraunt and she'll date me. It's foolproof!

What happened to Danny and Delinda hooking up? I guess we assume they did. :D

I think the over-the-top violence from the 1960s episode has seeped into the modern-day ones now. Although it was amusing to see Delinda take lessons from Big Ed in how to work guys over.

So that last line from the three "USA" guys leaving the Montecito -- "On to Reno!" -- was that supposed to be a joke, that the guy is so dumb that he mistook Reno for Turino? How do they pronounce Turino, anyway? Too-REE-no, or TUH-ri-no?

Just when I thought maybe the show was coming back around. First they pimp the Chevy HHR. Then the Olympics. Like I didn't know the Olympics were on NBC already. They have the rings already on the NBC logo. Like when the Olmpics are going on and they are on all the NBC owned channels it will not dawn on me that the Olympics are on.

This weeks episode wasn't so off the wall compared to many others of this season. I thought maybe just maybe they were going to return to semi decent shows. I was so glad we didn't have to see the ghost of Monica.

I think I am close to deleting this season pass.

    I'm totally with you 100%.

First off...I am sorry to say that I am pretty sick of the Olympics. When it was every four years, it was something to look forward too; but now I am all Olympicked-out. So with that in mind, I was not amused by NBC's futile attempt to garner interest in the Olympics.

As for this episode in general...just not very good. I was expecting them to show a "Monica" ghost and am relieved that they did not. This show has gotten pretty bad, especially with Monica's death.

I'm giving it two more eps then I may delete my season pass.

dont laugh... i had no idea it was olympic year or who had them. It's just not in the part of my mind that cares about such stuff.

thing is, once they do start, my guess is i would have heard about them so why the push now? Makes no sense. It will be all over the news etc etc.

If stuff is in HD i'll definitely try out some stuff on the new tv.

Ahhh...good catch. Yes, I found her character to be dreadful; but her actual death was rediculous. It was like the writers stopped trying.

If you are looking for non-ridiculous situations, then Las Vegas is probably the wrong show to be watching. I though the Wizard of Oz theme surrounding her death was pretty funny.

Las Vegas isn't even close to requiring their writers establish any credibility with any storyline.

There are times I disgust myself that I even watch it. This season will probably be my last... it's goofy in a bad way; it seems to try for a bit of a comic book feel -- larger than life -- but it fails. It just comes off lame much of the time.

It all started down the toilet with the introduction of Monica... well, maybe it was in the toilet before then, but Monica flushed.

I still watch it, for the eye candy and tech gadgets (and I still like the Las Vegas setting on the strip), but, I think they have REALLY run out of ideas. How many times can we have:

someone cheating at one of the tables
someone stealing something in the casino
Ed beat up someone, or go with someone to beat up someone
Danny "hooking up with" Mary, Delinda, Sam, whatever...
A new owner for the Montecito (I think we are on our 4th in 3 years)

It's not so much that the stories are implausable (you have to take a lot on faith to watch this show), but that they are all pretty much the same story!! I'm not sure what else they can do at this point. Maybe they could have a storyline about them opening a second casino in Vegas a la Steve Winn.

That said, there are still reasons to watch:
    Mary's cleavage
    Sam's dresses
    Delinda's flirtiness and feistyness
Did I say Mary's cleavage and Sam's dresses?

    SP stays for now.

I think I'd like to see a reoccuring villian on this show....somebody that they keep trying to catch but just gets away.
