I’ve got the standard TiVo remote that came with my edge. Some grime has gotten into the crevices of the large button. This causes the button to stay on when I depress it. When I take my fingernail and nudge it around it will finally release.

Is there a way to remove the button to clean behind it? There’s no screw in the battery compartment and I see no way to take the remote apart. Can the button cover be popped off to clean behind?

    Thank you.

I would try some canned air. It is pretty strong when used close to the surface.

i've had success working a paper towel with a small amount of windex into the crevice until it comes out clean - you could try contact cleaner, too (i know i've still got a can around here somewhere)...

Same here. Amazon sells it. It has oil in the spray.

You'd have to disassemble the remote to get behind the button.

Try a Q tip dipped alcohol around the button, work the button, then canned air.

Be careful with some contact cleaners... they can eat plastic.

This remote has no screws, it wasn’t made to disassemble. I’ll to the q tip bit.

No screws...one of the few things from TiVo that we didn't get screwed.

The remote snaps together and is easily opened. Google is your friend.
