Very strictly speaking I do not think she was trying to kill Eve, she shot Eve only once immediately after a sequence in which she told Eve she had to use the axe multiple times to make sure of death.

Also for whatever reason the gun wasn't the biggest badest one she could have been given.

I wondered if that was a single-shot gun. But your point stands, she could have shot her in the head. Although... Season Three, amiright?

Although abdomen gun shots are often fatal, except on TV.

Jodi won the BAFTA, which is a big deal ... just not in America where the rest of the world doesn't exist in reality. ;)

I thought this season Oh was great, even better than Comer (and Oh was nominated/won? the Emmy when I thought Comer was better). Again, a terrific last episode.

I binge-watched the entire season over the weekend and I thought it was just great.

And the crocs. I REALLY felt that scene.

Like many others here have said, Sandra Oh got a lot of attention for her role, but this season really belonged to Jodi Comer. She was spectacular.

Can't wait to see where we go next season!

Is someone going to call an ambulance for our poor dear Hugo?

That depends how far Carolyn and son take their clean up operation.

Speaking of which I thought Carolyn gave Konstantin walking away from her with contact details for his family a "you are a loose end" look.

I wasn't watching on the biggest highest resolution screen but I can't recall seeing any blood.

Very strictly speaking Villanelle could have fired an insulting parting shot that was deliberately aimed to miss.

Why did Eve hit the ground? Maybe because of her shortly before conversation with Hugo, when she expressed surprise he was alive he told her he used the hero's technique and played dead.

My guess is there has been no decision as to the details as to what has happened, Season 2 Showrunner has set up an end that Season 3 Showrunner can take in many directions.

Let's face it - if Villanelle wanted Eve dead, she would be dead.

And if there is to be a season 3, she's not dead yet.

In the last shot of her, there was a pretty clear pool of blood by her abdomen.

1000 time yes!! Such an incredible acting job. Terrific nuance to what could be such over-the top performances in the hands of different actors. Stunning.

And Eve has come to the realization that the reality border is much much less attractive in reality than in her fantasies.

The true psychopath in this series is Carolyn.

They're both on the run from MI-6? I must have missed that. I know Eve basically told Carolyn to shove off, but I didn't think that meant MI-6 wanted her dead. And it seems Carolyn is content to let Villanelle live and just use her when necessary.
Speaking of her husband, I'm surprised the season finale didn't deal with the fallout of his new girlfriend turning up dead in his storage unit. I realize the whole thing took place in Rome so there wasn't really a way to incorporate that, but it seems like an odd thing to leave as a cliffhanger in episode 7 and then not deal with it at all in episode 8.

Carolyn is the true psychopath, Eve is Eve as in Adam and Eve, Villanelle is the Devil/Fallen Angel/Serpent killing Eve by seduction, but I have just rewatched the first episode of season 2 and realized something else - Carolyn is God.

In the opening sequence replaying key scenes from season 1 one of them was Eve seeing Carolyn on closed circuit video from the prison and exclaiming "Oh my God".

(and even on the second time of seeing the look that Villanelle gave when Gabriel (the angel of mercy) called her an angel was worth a smile)

    So true! Well put

The Villanelle/Gabriel interactions are so well done and never fail to bring a smile to my face or a chill down my spine.
