Got back from Vacation and my TivoHD starts rebooting in the middle of shows.

Ran Kickstart 54 and my internal drive is fine, external drive is bad. (FAIL 7)

What's my best option here or am I just going to loose all my shows?

Can I connect the WD HDD to my PC and try and repair it?

Can I just unplug the external and watch what's on the regular HDD (I think the answer is NO on that one)

    Any other options? Help appreciated.

In a completely pointless and unneccessary move to keep content providers happy, the TiVo puts some of each recording on the internal drive and some on the external drive, so divorcing the external means losing everything recorded after it was added.

Do you have enough experience taking things apart to see how they would have worked to feel comfortable dismantling your external drive?

How about taking the cover off of your TiVo?

Do you have any spare hard drives lying around?
