I haven't watched the premiere yet, because I'm just "meh" on the series now. I don't know that I really care about any of the characters now.

I haven't watched the 2nd episode yet but interestingly the discussion here for it is only 16 replies deep while the 1st episode discussion at this time last week was pushing 100 replies. Not sure if there's anything to take away from that having not seen it yet but I just thought the drop-off was glaring.

I don't think that's a reflection of lower viewership so much as it's a reflection of an episode that didn't have nearly as much to talk about. Sure, the ratings for episode 2 will be lower than episode 1, but I doubt that accounts for the difference in thread lengths.

I watched the first season of FTWD and I too was disappointed by how fast they went from pre to post apocalyptic. I also couldn't find a single character I was invested in even after the entire season. Most shows there's someone within the first few episodes. I didn't bother with season 2.

I also haven't watched episode 2 of TWD. I have been going back and forth on if I will. At this point the only thing that has me tempted is

    BIG KITTY!

We're pretty much out. I'm still recording them, but we probably won't get to it until this summer at the earliest. So as far as the advertisers are concerned, I quit.

Sunday cable ratings: ‘The Walking Dead’ takes a bigger-than-usual hit in episode 2

It will be interesting to track the ratings over the next few episodes to see if they creep back up, or if they stay lower.

Gotta figure that the World Series was a big factor in the ratings - that plus a big SNF game.

I think I'm done. Not because of the violence, but because they're once again dragging things out. It's becoming monotonous. I don't watch very much television as it is so I'm questioning why I'm hanging on to this show.

I was one of the vocal critics of episode 1...but I am still in for now... It's a short season anyway, right? The fall season is only 8 episodes... We're already 3 in... 5 more, and we are on the winter break...

Here's an interesting article on the decline of TWD...

I still haven't watched past that first episode. I'll catch up later when the season is over. I'm not giving them any ratings.

I'm not sure if my wife and I are still watching or not. The last two are on the TiVo, but we keep skipping over them when we settle in to watch something. We haven't even discussed it; it's almost like we're pretending it's not there.
