Henry's gotta be someone important in some way to this time traveling, right?
I'm kinda intreged a bit now my Livia's life going on back in the 40s. Spinoff or something maybe? Maybe this season will be Dan-centric and next (Yes, being optimistic I know) will be Livia-centric.
So, would this mission (aside from what happened with his dad, Tom Baldwin...so i look at him and see Tom Baldwin) be the first time that he didn't really CHANGE anything and just used the knowledge he gained to save the present?
He got his Dad to tell Jack why he was leaving. So that's a change, though not directly related to keeping the newspaper staff around.
Well, I guess they're going to have to tell Jack's girlfriend about Dan's secret now. Or maybe they won't. I would kind of miss the "Is Dan crazy?" tension.
And you know they're going to have to let the boss know at some point too, since somebody's eventually got to cover for him at work (seeing how the publisher no less is aware of his recent poor performance.)
The Henry thing could really be intriguing. Damn I wish this show would go another 9 at least, so we could properly get into stuff like that.
Ummm am I the only one thinking that other than cheating Dad's father wasn't around much and thought he was a freak because he was time traveling?
Interesting thought. But I don't get that vibe at all.
I do get a weird vibe off of Livia's fiance. Like maybe he's the one that started the whole time travel deal to begin with. Or has something major to do with that aspect of it.
More Moon Bloodgood in an evening dress, please.
I thought the father showed some awareness / connection to his own life and what Dan was telling him. And if Dad is a time traveler as well, maybe on some level he even knew.... Regardless, that would be a great twist -- it runs in the family. So that could open up all kinds of plot twists.
-- Could the brother also start time traveling?
-- What about the kid (s)?
-- Is Livia related to Dan somehow?
Also, they answered one question about changing your own past. Dan doesn't remember the father telling them goodbye. He only remembers the original timeline. But the brother remembers. So how was the brother's life altered because his past was changed? Is he not so serious now? Does he take more chances? Was his girlfriend even pregnant before Dan suggested the Dad talk to the kids?
Very interesting show -- in very subtle ways!
I LOVE this show. Its so intriguing on so many levels. I will be extremely sad if it does not return. Stupid strike.
Actually, the strike is HELPING Journeyman. The network is more likely to give it a chance with no new eps of other shows ready to go.
The problem is that (after next week) they will have no new episodes of Journeyman, either.
I am missing something. Henry is the editor right? Dan's boss?
My take on the brother storyline is that since he knew why his Dad left he stepped up to the pregnancy where previously he wouldn't have. For example when he got the call in the car about having to go to work he told them to get someone else so he could be with his girlfriend.
Henry is Livia's boyfriend...the guy in the locket.
Okay, so Dan's dad took a picture of him back on Christmas Eve 1979...wouldn't it be interesting to see Dan's dad come back after all this time to confront Dan about what's going on with the time travels. And did Dan's dad not recognize him from before...I know Dan went to his dad's office in an earlier episode to talk to him about a story.
Just to add: Dan's boss's name is Hugh.
I'd like to think that Frank is a journeyman too, but if he were, would he have been so clueless when Dan was talking with him at the party? Seems like he would have id'd Dan as a journeyman also right away. (And maybe even id'd him as his son too.)
Thanks! He recognized him but did not remember who Dan was. Do you remember everyone you met only once for one day from years ago? I don't.
Yes, when he first showed up, Frank gave him a funny look and asked if he knew Dan, and Dan said that they had talked a couple of years earlier.
To me it seemed like he did when Dan mentioned that he was 9 when his dad left. It might have just been the realization that his own son (also named Dan) is 9 years old, or it could have been the realization that this was his own son.
My local news last night ran a short feature on Journeyman. They interview Reed Diamond (Jack) and he talked a little about filming in San Francisco and how great the show was. The news team was playing up how the show is a "Hit" and how if you liked things so far, just wait till you see what is coming in the future.
Reed Diamond went on to tell everyone that now is the best time to "Jump" into the show if you haven't been watching and if you have been watching...hold onto your hats, cause it's going to be a wild ride.
Also Reed has been going to many of the Christmas parades around the Bay Area doing Grand Marshal duties (San Jose and Livermore were mentioned)
So I know it's just studio hype, but it makes me happy to know they haven't bailed on promoting the show yet.
And Kevin McKidd was on Redeye a few nights ago. Of course, Redeye comes on at 3AM and last I heard only averages about 300,000 viewers a night, but hey, it's better than no promotion at all!
Wait, but does anyone know when Clash of the Choirs is supposed to begin?
