He is changing things. For instance, he googled someone and saw that they were dead, after his leap he googled them again and they were alive. So it's not a case of the person was always alive because he was destined to go back in time and save them; he had to do it first.

As for wholesale worldwide changes taking place... so far there doesn't appear to be any kind of "butterfly effect", he's just changing the world in a tiny way.

When my wife first saw the information about this show, she thought the same thing. She had me read the book, just in case. While there are differences, there are also similarities. At least he doesn't end up arriving in time the same way Henry did!

Did you read the post earlier in the thread that that was the original idea for Journeyman and it was changed when the creator found out how similar that was to TTTW?

I'm already confused, has Livia appeared in Dan's present yet? If not, when is the latest year she appeared? It's quite possible that her present is in Dan's past. I'm not sure if that makes any difference to anything, but it would be interesting if only a few months have passed for her since the plane crash.

Not that it matters, but they were in the clinic/hospital when he met Billy.

My wife also commented on the similarities with The Time Traveler's Wife, but I haven't read it.

I enjoyed this show. I like the clever way they turn around the object of the time traveling at the last minute, so what you think he was supposed to be accomplishing ends up not being that at all. I doubt they can keep that up, of course, but they got me twice. As with another poster above, I was sure that guy was some other sort of time traveler or someone sent to keep an eye on things.

This episode makes me look forward to future episodes. While the stuff in the past is not as compelling as it could be, the stuff in the present is very compelling. And kevin mckidd seemed to do better with the accent this episode.

One thing I really liked was that they didn't cop out entirely when he was on the run for stealing cab fare. I thought for sure a portal would appear.

i like the show and will definitely keep watching if only to see the handsome redhead :)

I like the reveal at the end of the shows where the object of the traveling is someone other than who it seemed initially, just a nice twist. Livia will become more and more important on his missions, I think, because at some point he'll be in a situation or do something that he needs some serious timecop input on.

i've moved this show up in my SP list.

Better yet, tell Alex Gonzalez not to boot a tailor made double play ball and tell Moises Alou to grow up and keep his cool when a ball is hit into the stands and a fan does what any fan does.

I finally watched this episode!! I'm so far behind on my recordings! I love love love how they are getting the props spot on!! I think I'm enjoying that part of it as much as I am everything else in the show.

I also like how the wife has no choice now but to believe him! Dan did good avoiding the question by the old girlfriend on the airplane. I could go on and on about the details. Needless to say, I'm enjoying this show!!

I am not going to read through 70 posts on this show, I can tell if I like it or not, I am sure it has been discussed as a re-worked quantum leap - which it is to a degree, but I think I just can stand that every time I look at the lead he is a cross between Anthony Michael Hall and Daniel Craig..

I digress, Its all fluff (and fun), but I am sure this forum will find some hyper deep meaning and ties to the world we live in today as well as a master crafted story and with vast mythology references.

It would also appear most people in this thread didn't notice the Brand new AT&T logo on a building when he was supposed to be in 1995 I believe it was? When he met Tanna to tell her her father was at the Hospital. Kind of throws off time continuity if you pay attention to the backgrounds..

I just watched this tonight - finally! I loved that the current conference at the hotel was Internet Erotica. :D

And does anyone remember were My Name Is Earl footage was used? I saw it in the credits but couldn't remember.

OMG! YES! Frustrating, because I keep trying to make him into Anthony Michael Hall.
