    Almost makes sense now.

I still marvel tho', that he'd agree to work on another show set to air on Fox. I mean, they've handed scifi so well, and his experiences with them have been so positive!

    Whedon is clearly insane.
I feel sorry for the guy (and Eliza Dushku).
He can give any excuse for why FOX did this, or why FOX did that, but the bottom line is that this show will be cancelled before the end of its first season. :p

Going back to Fox after Firefly for more of the same treatment? Joss, Joss, Joss.

    Not NEARLY enough.

I'd watch Eliza Dushku sit and read the phone book.

Going back to Fox after they treated him so poorly with Firefly is definitely not five by five.

I know Joss was born in a manger and all, but it is still quite possible that this will be a bad show. I'll watch but I won't be blinded by the Josslove.

I'll watch it and make my own decision. If the show sucks, Eliza Dushku can run around in a bikini and I won't watch. Ok, maybe one episode. All right, two.

Geez. Get OVER the Fox hate already. It's been 6 frakking years. Most likely all the people who Whedon was dealing with then are gone now.

Especially when Fox does it again and again and again. Not just to Mr. Whedon.

Except they don't, really, certainly not more than anybody else.

They've certainly given Sarah Connor more of a chance than anybody expected!

When a show's ratings suck and the network cancels it, that's not the network being evil or stupid. That's the network being fiscally responsible. Most of the "BiH" shows are shows that deserved to be canceled, no matter how much you or I might have liked them, because you and I were just about the only people watching them. Firefly was a long time ago, and I can't think offhand of a show since then that has gotten screwed the way Firefly did.

Well, it has been a while I'll give you that but John Doe got the axe on a great cliff hanger. That said, when Fox decided to air things out of order in the case of Firefly, they screwed the show themselves. I put it on Fox's shoulders. When John Doe got the axe, it was because ratings weren't good enough. Sad, for me, because I enjoyed the show, but so be it.

Now you have a new show that is getting no advance press at all during prime time programming. That sets it up for failure in my book. Putting in the Friday death slot, is a second strike against it. Ratings will be hard to get with both of those things counting against it and neither are the viewers fault. At least, not entirely.

NBC is the new go-to BiH target, people. Have you been living under a rock?

If the show doesn't premiere for over a month, can we really expect FOX to be running promos yet? They've been making a big push on that "Lie To Me" show, but that premieres over three weeks before Dollhouse does, and I don't think I saw anything about "Lie To Me" more than three weeks ago.

I guess I thought Fox was a bit like FX and TNT that gives six month warnings that shows were coming back. Even ABC has been pushing the return of Lost for the last couple months. I'm fairly certain that Fox has been pushing the return of American ID10T... I mean Idol for a while. At least a month, if not longer.

True, but I think that's a little different. When they're promoting the return of a known show, it's simply to keep it fresh in people's minds and to get them excited. Everyone knows what LOST or AI are, and if there's a promo in December and then the show doesn't start for another month, people won't have forgotten about the show.

However, with a new show, it's a little more delicate. If you start promoting too early, you run the risk of having people be interested, but then being turned off when they find out it's so far away. Then, by the time it airs, it's been so long since they actually got excited about the show, that excitement has waned or they've completely forgotten about it.

I'm not saying FOX is going to properly promote Dollhouse. In fact, I'm quite sure they won't. But the fact that they haven't been pimping it yet like they've been doing with "Lie To Me" isn't necessarily an indication that the show is already dead and buried.

I'm still looking forward to it regardless of all you naysayers!!!

I'd rather be optomistic and not drive people away by saying it won't last over and over again (what's the point).
