BTW, here's a WAG that might render a lot of these issues moot (and raise some new ones):

Is it just me, or did the voice on the phone sound a lot like Major Beck? Obviously there's some deliberate obfuscation of the voice going, albeit less than in last episode (it was clearly altered there), so I could just be hearing things.

But if is Beck, that would change the situation in interesting ways. The question of course is why he'd have Hawkins jumping through hoops? Perhaps to protect his own identity in case Hawkins blows it later on?

I haven't been that excited since Chloe on 24 picked up a machine gun.

So many holes it's hard to know where to begin.

    1. The whole radiation scan makes no sense. Why would they suddenly decide to scan and why would a heavily shielded bomb, buried underground show up at all. I haven't laughed that hard since Sky King used a geiger counter in a plane to find uranium.

    2. The sheriffs office would never be allowed to be a skif. Windows everywhere... I don't think so. Plus a true skif would require clearances even for a secret ( lowest) that they wouldn't have time to do for a loca.

    3. See one.

    4. Why send mapping data in printed form when according to the plot line, they would then analyze it and find the radiation. Why not do the analysis and send the results? It's not like they have radiation analysis experts in Jericho.

wont the good insider J/R girl have to be killed now too?

So what was the story behind the freeing of the kid? Someone else called the bossman and told him to call the checkpoint? I didnt get how he knew to call the checkpoint at exactly the same time as jake got there.

will ravenwood now lose the contract to run the town?

Jake's brother went to the Major in town and told him what was going on.

You might get someone a little better than Ravenwood, but still J&R are the main criminals.

I think Bonnie realized that Mimi wasn't going to live, and put her life on the line for her and for Stanley. Farm girls are tough, and I like the way this show points out the need for the 2nd amendment. Where would Jericho be if no one had guns? You know Ravenwood and the army would have them. Stanley has to man up now and join the revolution!

If they had focused on a group wanting to take over the world, and had more bombs now to do so, and followed that part of the plot, I bet the viewers would have stayed and we'd have a season 3. As it is, it is a bunch of political people fighting and occasionally shooting, kind of like a civil war (in fact it IS a civil war) and CBS ought to know civil war shows were tried on TV and did not do well, where something like an 007 show, or a mission impossible, did quite well.
