Afer I tranfered a program to my PC I recorded from cable. I took it to a friends house to watch it. It would not play on the DVD player or her PC. It did have a (.tivo) extention on it. I can watch it on my PC, but not my DVD player. What do I need to do so I can burn and watch this DVD.

Do a search for the "Dan 203 method" for getting shows into DVD. It's a very long thread but has some good information.

    Here is what I do:

    - Transfer to PC
    - Open show(s) with VideoRedo (the best $50 I have ever spent on software).
    - Use VideoRedo to edit out the commercials and save the file as a .VOB file.
    - Use DVDStyler (free) to create a basic menu and output as a .ISO image.
    - Burn the ISO using ImgBurn (free)

[EDIT] Here's the thread. Warning....it is abouyt 540 posts long at this point. I would peruse the first few pages to get a general feel for what is in there and then the last few pages to see if people are doing things differently.
