Is there any way to force an update on a S2?

    I have a S2 connected wirelessly to my network.

    It has been unplugged for a couple of months and I fired it up today in hopes of getting the new update.

    I get a message that tells me that I can't do that until a service update occurs at 2am.

    Is there any way around this to force it to update now?

    You can force a connection to update the channel listings, which often leads to getting the newest software update.

    Tivo Button, Messages and Settings,Settings, Phone and Network, Connect to Tivo Service Now.

    That is the only way I know of :)

    Keep in mind, this suggestion is coming from a total Newb but

    Kickstart code 5 1 - software upgrade

    I don't know what it really does or how to use it but I read this somewhere.

    The kickstart was not really necessary. Your TiVo had downloaded a new version of the software and was going to restart itself at 2 am to install it. You really just needed to restart the TiVo to install it.
