    I have attempted to follow the mode 0 tutorial (thanks to Beastman) but now how do I know if it is running or not?
    I think I may have seen this asked a while ago but I can't find it now.
    Blindlemon has mentioned something noticeable during power up but I couldn't see anything.
    Any foolproof methods of mode 0 detection out there?? :)

    It should be obvious with the better picture quality.

    Tune to BBC1 and wait for a white flash at the bottom right ? ;)

    Check the tvlog after changing channels and you should see a message about the bitrates.

    If you have video extraction, check the frame-size of an extracted recording.

    In the TVlog there should be an entry similar to the following
    date TmkMediaswitch::Trace[144]: using VBR, bitRate=6300000, maxBitRate=7800000
    Match the bitrate setting to whatever you used for mode0

    Thanks for your replies.

    My TVlog contains:

    TmkMediaswitch::Trace[148]: using VBR, bitRate=7500000, maxBitRate=9000000

    So I guess this is proof positive

    Yes, that's Mode 0 running in "best" quality (or is it vice versa?) as set by the setupMode0.tcl script :)
