Advertisements Our Series 3 box in our bedroom is connected to a small 2.1 stereo system via an aux input. It basically works great, but I would like to be able to use the TiVo remote to control the volume. First I tried using the remote setup function, but the closest I came to success was a code that made the volume buttons control... the sleep settings. So then I saw that my Series 3 remote was a "learning" model and thought my problems were solved -- nope! While this worked great for programming buttons from my TV remote, trying to learn from the stereo's remote doesn't take. I get the quick 10 flashes and that's it. The remote is a TEAC RC-1090 (I think this model no. is for the remote, not the device it controls). It's a horribly-designed thing that is a pain to use, which is the main reason I'm so eager to let the TiVo remote handle the volume changes. But if the TiVo remote can't "learn," does that mean there's no code that would work?
