Comcast replaced my cable box yesterday with a new Comcast-branded Cisco rng200. The Tivo has no IR codes for any Cisco model. I found that the box was probably manufactured by Cisco's subsidiary Scientific Atlanta, but none of the SA IR codes worked.

Any advice on how to proceed? Tivo customer support was only able to give me 3 common codes for Scientific Atlanta but were otherwise unhelpful. Thanks!

Isn't that a DVR ? Curious why you'd want to use a DVR to feed a DVR?

It is. It's free for 6 months and it has two receivers and records in HD, which my Series 2 doesn't. But the user interface is abysmal, so I'd rather use my Tivo for recording everything else.

I doubt that the SA TiVo would have any codes to control another DVR.

Get a standard cable box to feed that TiVo.

Just got off the phone with Comcast and they tell me that the IR code for that unit is: 00877

Can't vouch for that being correct - just passing it on to you FWIW. The tech support guy for Comcast didn't find it internally but by allegedly going on to the Universal Remote site on line.

I don't have a TIVO but I am trying to continue to use my Slingbox Pro with the Cisco RNG200 and I have had nothing but trouble trying to do so.

That's the code in the UEI made remote that comes with cable box, it has nothing to do with what the tivo code # for such a box, if it exists at all.

I had the same issue. Cisco cable box, not dvr with no ir code. I chose Comcast cable box and it worked. I have no idea what the numeric code is but I don't need to now. Hope that helps.

I have the codes, but they are in hex format to cut and paste into ProntoEdit. May not be of help. PM me if you need them.

I got the Pronto codes for the RNG200 from TiredRetired. The codes for numbers 0-9 and OK/Select match perfectly with code 10104 on your TiVo. That's the code for almost all DTAs.

Does Tivo at least update IR codes for older models?

Yes. Even the Series 1s still get IR database updates.
