    That would be terrific.

Autoskip is great in theory but the delay to ifttt really mucks it up. I had to end up turning it off

I don't even know what that is and probably don't care. I tried to read it, but my eyes glazed. It is hard for Tivo, Inc to do much right in their Dev...as seen in the "releases" of Gen4. Failure in testing and foresight...

Use kmttg with little delay. Works great, less filling.

I stopped using the skip button when it skipped the beginning of the show and took me to the end of the 2nd batch of commercials. Anything that unreliable, I'd rather avoid. I hope autoskip will be a feature you can turn off.

    The skip button? Not IFTTT?
As you described, I also had the SKIP button fail a few times, maybe 2 times in 3 months.
SKIP is better than the hitting the 30 sec advance 8 times and going too far and then rewinding half the time.

IFTTT has a high failure rate, so if Tivo makes AutoSKIP local, that would be great as it would be as reliable as kmttg's Autoskip (which may not work after April)

This was interesting because we already have the IFTT skip, the whole point of that facebook page started with the addition of auto skip as an IFTTT.

I read that as a hint that autoskip would come native on TiVo.

KMTTG works great, but you have to run a job to download the skip points and that doesn’t work well if you watch shows soon after completion.

kmttg AutoSKIP may not work after April:
"Perhaps a more overarching concern is the certificate I'm currently using in kmttg expires in April of this year and AFAIK there's no new one available from the TiVo apps yet, so there's a possibility come April I lose all RPC functionality."

    Edit: his certificate was renewed.

AutoSKIP via IFTTT is to be the 1st of more IFTTT applets to come.

I see that word skip on a few recorded shows. It doesn't seem to show up for sports, news, or any non network. Only on ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS, during prime time?

Also TBS, AMC and a few others.
No Skip for Sports or News (since most are viewed live and not recorded).

Thanks Tony_T, I cut the cable and OTA only. No TBS, or AMC. I get MeTv, Ant-Tv, Grit, This Tv, etc!

That's a very old list (it dates from before ABC Family changed to Freeform two years ago), but it seems to still be accurate. Kinda sad that they have never expanded the available channels...

I have been recording the Olympics and autoskip not only works fine on the 7-10:30 PM Olympics, but works on the 2 PM -5 PM also. But not on the 11 PM-1:40 AM series. Sorry NBC, I know that you charged a fortune for your commercials, but I did not watch any of them.

It seems to be an issue at the very beginning of shows. I use 30 second skip at the start then regular skip. I've never had an issue after the beginning of shows.

If you hear the chime it's safe to skip. I'm usually faster than the chime, hence my issues at the start of some shows.

No chime if DD is being used. That may be a classic UI thing. As for the extra skip, I have a remote that stutters sometimes. If I back up to the start, it seems to be ok.

Sometimes it is hard to tell a commercial has started. Then I wait to see the message up top.

In a recording, if you hit the skip button and skip a program segment, you can hit the channel down button to skip back to the first of that segment, since sometimes you accidentally hit the skip button twice and skip a segment of the program.
