Or just because the source material was written in the 1960s?

I tried to watch this. I made it about 20 minutes in before I gave up. I thought the acting was horrible, the effects were cheesy and there was nothing compelling about the set-up. There are other shows I enjoy way more than to give this more of my time to see if it gets better. These days I just don't have the time for that.

Black Bolt has a last name although I’m not sure if it makes it better or worse. His name is Blackagar Boltogon.

Edit: I looked up the names of the others since Black Bolt was the only one I remembered.

    Medusalith Amaquelin Boltagon
    Karnak Mander-Azur
    Gorgon Petragon
    Triton Mander-Azur
    Crystalia Amaquelin
    Maximus Boltagon

I enjoyed it because it was true to the original storyline. These are comic book characters, not real people. It's all fantasy. Perhaps you guys would like it better if it had wizards and Hobbits or people on flying broomsticks. Sheeesh.

There was a flashback in the second episode. Black Bolt's father called him Black Bolt. How many parents refer to their children by their nicknames?

This show would have been better as a cartoon. As a live action show, it's Marvel's worst effort. Worse than Iron Fist. Much worse. Who green lighted this and is he still employed?

    A lot.

My own parents often refer to my brother by his nickname and me by a shortened version of my name.

Certainly, some parents refer to their children by their initials, middle name, or nickname such as "Buddy", "Duke", "Bubba", "RJ", etc.

Virtually all my siblings have someone who calls them Sully. When we're together if I say "Sully" I'm referring to my brother. My parents refer to him as Sully as well.

I refer to my sons by their nicknames, and my parents referred to me by mine... so, not unreasonable.

I love all things MCU and am probably one of the biggest Marvel apologists out there but this show is terrible, not sure what can save it.

The first two episodes pimped out to theaters was a huge red flag. I’m glad I didn’t invest more than 15 minutes in this series.

He got that name from Stan Lee, who thought "Paste-Pot Pete" was a good name for a supervillain.

This show is pretty terrible. I can't imagine it's gonna make it much longer

There are only 8 episodes, I believe. And we’ve seen three.

Yeah but how long before they "cancel" it and burn off the remaining episodes in some weird time slot.

Peggy Carter was WAY better then this and they axed it.

Yeah, they'll probably move it to Fridays to die.

    Oh, wait... :D
    After two complete seasons.

Inhumans will complete its season. And then almost certainly never be heard form again...although stranger things have happened.

A quick look at Wikipedia shows only 6 episodes...

I am actually enjoying Inhumans. But I was also a fan of the comic book and the cross-over with the Fantastic Four.
