Exactly what info are you referring to?

The only info Netflix has on me is an email address.

I have no phone number on the account.

I have no CC info on the account as I purchase Netflix gift cards at a store then use that to pay the monthly dues.

They get your ISP's address. That only gets them 50 miles from me. Produces not very accurate weather though.

Anywhere you go on the internet has your IP address.

A lot of forum users do not know that mods/admins can see your IP address on every post you make.

Any website you go to can also see your IP but I doubt any of them are running your IP through a IP lookup site.

Yeah any site I go to thinks I’m near Wilmington DE even though I’m a good 35 miles away from there.

Like most people, I am not familiar with the finer details of my 2 year contract, but I suspect the agreement states they can remove or replace any channels at will, and legally could dump all the premium channels and not replace them if they wanted. They of course are smarter than that, and do a slow bleed, rather than all at once. No doubt their larger replacement plan was created over a year ago, and started when they replaced Max with Hitz. As various contracts expire with content providers, contracts are not renewed or significantly scaled back and replaced with cheaper streaming networks that have B-Film quality content that is in SD.

When Comcast dropped Cinemax last summer, I did do a deep dive into my 2-year contract and discovered that yes they reserve the right to remove channels, but if you notify them (within a certain period I believe) that the change had a negative impact on your service, you could terminate the contract with no penalty. In removing Cinemax, they explicitly said that most of the Max content could be accessed using HBO On Demand, so the impact was minimal (in their opinion ... original Max series are not available on HOD but may be on HBO Max later on). They really can't make the same argument if they remove Starz, and Epix is not an equivalent value replacement. Most of the movies on Epix that interest me are also available on Prime Video.
Having said that, Comcast has been pretty good in some areas in grandfathering my service to a certain extent. A number of times my fee increases were delayed (I don't have the latest Broadcast/RSN fee jumps yet) for a year. So if Starz is removed from my package in general, I wouldn't be surprised if they let me keep it for awhile as long as it is offered a la carte.

You can also cancel TV anytime under contract without penalty if you keep internet.

Is there a way to get the Epix app to work on the Tivo on comcast?

When I login to Epix and try to activate the Tivo, there is no "Tivo" option to activate, but there is the other top 10 stream devices listed (Apple, Firestick, Roku, etc, xbox, etc).

I am not having any issue with the Xbox or the other devices I own, I am specifically looking to get the Epix app to work on Tivo. The Epix app appears in Tivo's app menu, and I have a subscription to Epix through comcast. As noted in previous post, Tivo is not included in the list of devices to activate on the Epix website.

No, TiVo is not included, but Xbox is and you should choose that.

Is everyone getting the correct guide data for these Epix and Screenpix channels for Comcast (Xfinity)? Since December my Tivo guide data has been wrong, as noted in earlier messages, but I've waited to see if Tivo will correct the guide data. The data on most of these channels still reports the Encore info even after I've redone the guided set up. So, just wondering if its just me...

No, mine's horribly wrong too. A mix of clearly mixed up starz channels, and duplicate info for Epix channels that is just completely wrong.

I just haven't had the energy to collect a list, and start the battle. I keep hoping some other intrepid TCFer will do it for me... ;)

Thank you for the reply! Didn't think I could be the only one.

I also looked at filing out a channel list problem form with Tivo but it looked like I'd have to search my entire channel list to find all the Epix/Screenpix channels and compare them and then fill out a Tivo form for each and every channel since the form seemed to only let you report a single channel at a time! Big PITA and I am now really wondering why I am paying a monthly fee to Tivo for this "service".

Honestly, Tivo certainly is aware of Comcast's antics and apparently doesn't bother to preemptively update their data unless enough people complain.

I did this and reported it. 3 weeks later Tivo informed me they solved the issue. Nothing changed.

In Boca/Delray I reported all the epix/hitz/starz screw ups as many different ways as I could. Eventually spending hours comparing comcast's channel lineup to tivo's guide data and making a huge list when I then reported 3 or 4 channels at a time on tivo's lineup problems page (which is insanely difficult to use and won't let you report as many problems as you have in one batch). After a few weeks, it did clear up, but it sounds like it was only fixed in boca/delray.

My Epix channels were wrong in the TiVo guide - several off by one. I submitted the TiVo channel/guide issue form, listing the 3 that would fit in the fields and then all of them in the "other info" text box at the bottom. They fixed it in a couple of days.
