I probably wouldn't have noticed either except I had seen this thread before my S2 got 9.1.

That being said, I like having the consistent graphics across all the boxes now. Even the channel banner looks better.

Maybe. Mine was queued for downloaded within 8 hours of me signing up. Just keep in mind when it eventually says "Pending Restart" and you reboot the Tivo that it can take up to 40 minutes to an hour to update so be sure you don't have anything important scheduled to record then. If you don't reboot it yourself I think the Tivo will automatically reboot around 2AM.

As I have 2 10-250's, I have not seen the new graphics. Is there a link where I might see them?

I didn't fully read the responses after this, but there are DEFINITELY differences in the S3.. some good, some bad.

The font when browsing the listings is smaller. You can now fit 9 shows at a time rather than 8 before.. IIRC. (But the font for the TIME is bigger or farther to the right, so I see things like:
    10:00PM2 Ten O'Clock News
the time and the channel are crammed together.. this is a _minor_ bad.)

The font for the To Do list is a LOT bigger. You see FAR less of the name. I don't remember specifics but I could swear I used to see something like
    Late Show With Da
now I see something like Late Show W
I'm probably exaggerating a bit, but I noticed it right away.

The main Tivo screen now seems a lot slower to come up -- i.e. it does the "come up and then fill in" like Now Playing does. Seems much less polished.

I haven't played with the new wishlists.

Along with the Good, I really think that they should move the TIME to the left

    i.e. instead of

    .....................[CHANNEL LISTINGS]
    [DATE] [TIME]

    they could do
    [DATE] [TIME]

and vertically move the channel part into the 'dead space'. Then there would be FAR more room for the show title.

I wasn't aware of any new software pending either (since i don't visit the Coffee House much these days), but today I had a PTCM on my S2 telling me that I had the new update. That is why I am reading these 9.1 threads. :)

Yep. UI performance is MUCH worse than 8.3 on S3s.

I understand my 10-250's won't be getting it, I just wanted to see what it looked like.

To be honest I don't really use TiVo.Net anymore ... I switched to pyTivo a while back (and it does work with 9.1 on my S2).

On the To Do list the down arrow is almost completely invisible. I hope they fix that.

I am not a fan, I liked the old look. I guess this is the price of progress. :)

Ditto for me! One night I watched a whole episode of Shark and I couldn't figure out why they were talking about things in previous episodes that I had not watched. When I went back to the Shark Recordings List I discovered that I had watched an episode out of order because I missed seeing the down arrow. Now I have to be very careful to look for it.

I have an S2ST, and the only difference I notice is the graphics in the channel banner and guide.
    Very refreshing.

All menus and fonts look the the same to me. If there is any difference, I can't tell.

From the way everyone had been raving, I expected a complete overhaul.
    Maybe someday.

Said price being as much as $19.95/mo under contract for some.

This is pretty meager progress for living under the sloppy testing and eternal clean up process of TiVo's "service" development folks. I hope in the Spring update TiVo will have quashed many bugs and not introduced too many others. I doubt many bugs will get fixed this year.

It will be interesting to see if this foretells the nature of the quality/speed of the ComcastTiVo software, which we are still waiting for.

And what about the bugs the Hi Def transfer functions may have?

Sheesh. This doesn't thrill me! I guess I never saw the complaints about WishList that caused them to change to this . . . um, change. I, for one, do NOT like it. It is awkward and cumbersome for me. I'm sure I'll get used to it. But it does make me wonder . . .

Now, if they had allowed me to Watch while doing TiVo Housekeeping (one of the really good things about the SA8300HD) or some of the other minor improvements I've noted in their suggestions area -- that'd make me happy.

But this "update" doesn't make me happy, it just makes me wonder . . . why???
My message details interface is now blue with lightbulbs and a moving light, while other pages are maroon and aqua, and Find Programs is aqua with wind vane and other things, Other pages are different. So on MY TiVo, there isn't consistency.

The colors don't matter to me much though. I just with they'd fix the things that are a little buggy and leave alone things that work.
