Advertisements I have a Series 2 unit and really want to get a HD TiVo. I called Customer Service and asked about it and the only option they gave me is to ADD a HD unit to my existing agreement and begin paying the monthly fee for it. Problem is, I don't want or need a second unit. I paid for lifetime service and I am not going to start paying monthly for a second unit regardless of its capabilities. Are there any options to get this done? How creative must someone be? If I smash my unit so it cannot be repaired, will TiVo transfer my lifetime service to a new HD unit when I buy one? What if my TiVo was "stolen"? I am not suggesting doing anything shady, but what recourse does TiVo give existing lifetime subscribers if and when they want to enter the era of HD? Has anyone else made the switch successfully? Thanks!
