Are they using the same opt-in approach or going all-in?

    Should be fun...

TiVo Experience 3, aka Encore, aka Quattro 20.x.x
TiVo Experience 4, aka Hydra, aka Mira 21.x.x

You need a decoder ring in order to work at TiVo :)

I don't know if this old post from the TiVo website is still accurate, but it shows only 10 TiVo partners. Three of those 10 (Grande, RCN, and Wave) have since been bought by TPG.

There are other smaller companies as well. Bluestream is one of them.

The National Cable Television Cooperative has made a deal with Arris to offer NCTC members access to hardware running the TiVo UI. My cable system, Service Electric Cablevision, is currently looking at using TiVo powered boxes. This will be the Arris MG2, Mi4 IP client, and the Qi3 cable set top client. The Qi3 can also be used as a stand alone HD box or a DTA.
The test box they have is running Gen 4 so it appears they will start with Hydra if they decide to go with this set up. They also have been using Rovi's I Guide software in their DVRs and non DVR STBs. The Qi3 will enable them to retire those older devices running the I Guide.
Currently they are using the Moxi UI that Arris once owned, which they sold to Espial. From my understanding that UI is going to be EOLed.
ARRIS Introduces Advanced Set-Top Portfolio Providing TiVo Experience; Supports the NCTC VU-IT! Program
The NCTC also offers VU-IT which can be added along with the TiVo powered set tops.
    VU-IT!

The NCTC has a lot of members which are mainly small cable systems through out the US.
    Our Members
This doesn't mean that all these systems will be using Arris TiVo powered boxes but they will have access to them through the cooperative if they decide to go that route.

There is 3 Service Electrics, each owned by one of the siblings of the founder of the company, but these systems operate independently of each other. SECTV, that has been mentioned in this thread, is not a member of the NCTC and has made their own deal with Arris. I do believe those TiVo's will be Gen 3 Encore UIs to start. SECV, the system I am on, is part of the NCTC, and is going through them for their TiVo's if they finally decide to use them.
They did test the older Pace MG1 TiVos a few years ago but decided on the Arris Whole Home Solution, Moxi, because the MG1 required the use of a CableCard to set up. Also the Arris boxes had a built in cable/phone modem so they thought that this would be easier on them. This actually turned out to be a disaster as it was difficult to get working and keep working. Also the built in modem was only DOCSIS 2.0 and was virtually outdated by the time they started rolling out the boxes.
