I upgraded and cancelled my Hr10 with D* a couple of months ago.

I am in the process of giving away the Hr10 and I remembered that I never
"cleaned it up", i.e. erasing saved programs, to do list, season pass, etc.

I connected it to a tv today and hooked up the HDMI and component cables
but I got nothing on the screen.

What do I have to do to get everything erased?

    Thanks.

You may have to cycle through the various resolutions to get to the one that will work with your TV. Use the up arrow button. Why do you have both HDMI and component connected?

    Thanks Jim.

    I disconnected the HDMI.

I have a plasma tv with a AV3 connection in the back which I use for my HR20.

I connected the 3 component cables from the HR10 output a/v to the AV3 connection on my plasma and then set the input to AV3.

I get nothing on my screen by clicking "list" on the remote.

Is there something else that I should be doing?

    Thanks.

Now you need to make sure the component output on the HR10 is active by cycling through the resolutions. I'm going to guess that the plasma's native resolution is 720p on its AV3 inout, so the HR10 needs to output 720p.

Jim. If you are still out there , I have another question.

I had to rehook-up the HR20 to my plasma, for family use.

I have another TV in a spare room that I would like to use to solve my problem.

I connected the component cables on the HR10 to the the TV but couldn't bring up anything.

Can I use this other non- HD TV and if so how do I bring up the stored stuff on the HR10, so I can delete it.

Also, as I only want to get to the stored programs do I need a current access card or any other connection, other than power and component cables?

    Thanks again.
