Hello I'm new here...is it possible to remove the hard drive from a hr10-250 and reformat it for use in a pc or an enclosure as an external hd?

Sure, it's just a regular hard drive.

In particular, it's a regular IDE or P-ATA (Parallel ATA) hard drive. If your PC requires a S-ATA (Serial ATA) drive, you'll need an adapter.

The R15 will have a standard disk, but it may be SATA. I'm not sure - ask at www.dbstalk.com.

It's the same, but 160 gigs. You could take the R15's hard drive and use it in a tivo like I did :)
