I have a primary Tivo box and the smaller one for a 2nd room. The smaller box goes into screensaver mode after a while. For this, I press the Tivo button. The larger primary Tivo box goes to live TV instead of the screensaver. How do I enable the screensaver for the primary box?

    My cable provider is CableOne.

There is no screen saver other than live tv.
There is a power saving mode that puts it into standby mode after 4 or 2 hours of not being used.

    What is the feature called?

It occurs after a few minutes. Not 2 to 4 hours.

Feature for what? you're not clear, but this should cover the bases.
The Screensaver on the mini is not adjustable
The blanking of the video for Standby on the Tivo (not the mini) is Standby and it's adjustable but generally not recommended because the savings are mnimal.
The dropping back to Live TV on the Tivo is 15 minutes and not an adjustable feature, it will only do this when pausing Live TV, it will not drop to Live if you're watching a recorded program.

My primary drops back to Live TV after 15 minutes whether Live TV or a recording were paused.

Did you buy these two boxes? If so, can you find the model numbers?

Knowing that a screen saver is impossible, what alternative thing would you like to see happen? Would a blank screen be ok?

If you don't know what the feature even is, how can you say when it occurs?

This feature is called "power saving mode" just like I said. When turned on, you can set it to go into standby after 4 hours (and choose to allow or disallow recording of suggestions) or after 2 hours and will not record suggestions.

Any Tivo ever made drops to live tv after a few minutes from any menu screen. A paused recording can remain on the paused screen indefinitely. Paused live tv does not revert to live tv after 15 minutes. What happens is that the live tv buffer reaches the pause point and starts playing from there. It could happen nearly instantaneously or it could be 30 minutes depending on where in the buffer one is when pausing. This is not any kind of screensaver. It's just what happens when there is a moving buffer.
