New 10-episode series is premiering Tues May 3 on the History Channel at 10 PM ET/PT. In case you missed it, the special How the States Got Their Shape, which first aired last year, is being repeated Tues May 3 at 6 PM ET/PT.

My brother told me about this show last year and it sounded awesome. I caught an ad for the new show and found the original so I have an SP and setup a manual recording to catch the original.

Love this show. Sometimes the History Channel still does history. I bought the book after the special.

I saw it last year. IIRC, it was basically like 2 hours worth of exactly what is airing now as part of the actual series. I'm guessing they made just one piece of the series so that they could air it as a test before deciding to greenlight the rest of them or not.

My guess is it will air again at some point.

If I watch the series, I don't need to watch the special.
