I have had rooftop antenna for decades (Pre-digital) and still use it. The previous work that I had done was replace the twin-lead wiring with coax from the antenna coax in the attic leading to a new coax wall outlet plate.

I am stringing RG6U with good connectors. The TV stations here are fairly numerous, including the usual: CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, Fox, The CW, MyNetworkTV, Ion, plus quite a few others, religious, shopping, etc., etc. The latter I don't expect to record from or look at except to find out what is received, out of curiosity. Ion is mostly (or exclusively?) old stuff. And at the latter two listed before Ion, I find nothing interesting. That makes about five really. The four tuners in the Roamio should be sufficient to cover OTA. The big question will remain whether it will work without internet updates, if all the recordings are set manually. I will report back, eventually.

They've been 'out of stock' of the Roamio OTA for a bit now. I wonder if it's headed to the pile of TiVo's Past?

When I bought this one, I attempted to do it online, but their site wasn't working properly, the create PW function, off. I ended up calling, and the agent reported that their technical folks were working on it. He didn't say anything about why the new Roamio OTAs were out of stock, but I was happy enough for the $50 off for a "renewed." I doubt that anyone at that level there knows much of anything. The tech support seemed particularly inept (according to everyone else from whom I've heard), but I shouldn't write that until I get this box going and find out for sure.

I think that I screwed this up for you, as I can only give you the software version post full updating: 21.7.2.RC12-846-6846.

Also, my guess is that the manual recording will only work out 13 days, as that is as far as it currently indicates, despite selecting Repeat, day of week, etc. More in about a month.

When a Tivo does its connections, its not only updating the guide data, it also sets the clock, checks its service status, sharing status, etc.

Just for fun, make a recording of a news or weather program. It should include the date and time. That will give you an estimate of clock drift.

I've been making the same daily manual recording on my Roamio for the last two months.
