I assume you just meant that you had wanted all those spot-on insights about Barney to have been just a really good cold read (as opposed to things she learned about him from constantly seeing him at the club), and not that being a stripper meant that she couldn't be smart. ;)

Exactly, I had hoped they had given us someone that out of the box was Barney's equal, only using their powers for good not evil. They didn't "need" the stripper aspect IMO.

They did, or at least that's the way she seemed to me.
The angle is that she knows some things about him without him knowing who she was. I guess they could have made her a mousy girl in his office, but I think this way is more interesting...

That's the way she was supposed to seem . . . until the tag at the end, when we find out she knows all this stuff about him because she's observed him in his natural habitat.

So that took away some of the potential credibility her character had.

Some strippers can cold read a man very well.
It can be an asset in their line of work.
And aides in getting bigger tips.

It is credible that she just knew things she couldn't know? It is far more credible that she knew because she knew Barney.

The question is....do they throw away a decently big actress on a one ep or will she recur?

I don't think it's a question, of course she will recur.

I think this episode was much better than last week's, but that's not really saying a whole heck of a lot.

The girl that wasn't falling for any of Barney's moves was a stripper? When did that bit of news get announced. I don't remember that at all.

I actually liked this episode. Made me laugh out loud a couple times.

You must have quit watching before they came back for the final bit. It was at the very end.

Yeah, that is what happened. I fast forwarded too far and my DVR brought up the option to delete. So, to see that last bit, I would of had to FF through the entire episode to get to the last segment, so I just skipped it.

Did Barney go into a stip club and found her dancing or something?

It showed the two girls getting ready in the dressing room. Ted's girl was saying something like you're still thinking about that guy aren't you. Then she said I can't believe he didn't recognize you. Final segment showed Barney's girl walking out on stage. I had wondered how she knew Barney ended up in a strip club most nights by himself. Now I know.

What DVR do you have? On my TivoHD when it asks if you want to delete, you can hit the Replay button to cancel it and go back 8 seconds from the end.

I use a DirecTV DVR. Maybe there is a way to cancel out of the delete prompt, but I don't know what it is. If I select to not delete, it just goes back to my list of shows recorded. If I pick the show I was just watching, it starts at the beginning.

I never knew that either. I've always started the show over, skipped as far as I could, and then FF to the part I missed.

Oh, so close... I'm conditioned to think 3 short lines are going to be a Haiku.

    Strippers cold read men.
Asset in their line of work.
    Getting bigger tips.

If it is an HR or a newer SD model, just rewind when the prompt is up, it will back up.

Or just not sure what to do with their life yet so they decide to go make a bunch of money while they figure it out.

Are you suggesting strippers and hookers are the same?

Or for avoiding the dbags and grabbers ;)

True dat. The ones who don't end up sucking all their money up their nose usually end up being able to write their own ticket by 30.

No (although there's certainly some overlap :)), but the "hooker with a heart of gold" and "stripper with a heart of gold" tropes are essentially the same.
