In one of those clips (the last one, IIRC), the digital insertion was pretty blatantly obvious.

Is this a clip episode? Because there were a lot of clips from previous episodes. If it was one, it was one of the best clip episodes of all time. I loved explaining the "sandwich" to my girlfriend.

There was an old episode where they flashed back to when marshall and ted first met at the dorms. Because Ted is presumably explaining the story to his kids, they kept referring to drug paraphernalia as a "sandwich" and in the scenes it was a giant sub sandwich, but the scenes still played like it was marijuana.

Yeah, Sasso looked really 'flat' compared to the actors in front. Bad CG.

And he looked like he was always looking at someone off set.

Which, if I were a producer/writer on HIMYM, I would take as an insult. SNL has been horrific lately. (The last 10 years, at least.)

I too believe he was digitally inserted. I was reminded of Barney as Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing.

Will Sasso is apparently not a very funny guy. I didn't care for him at all, and I hope he's not back again.

The rest was pretty good. Barney hitting himself in the face was pretty funny. And Robin was GREAT with her throwing herself at Barney. :D

Also notice because Barney hit himself it was his right eye, where 90-93% of the time it would be his other eye, his left.

That was my favorite gag of the episode. :D

No mention yet of the fact that within 3 to 5 years we're going to have the galaxy's best turkey carver? ;)

Have you actually been WATCHING SNL? While you definitely don't have to agree with it, there have been lots of people who have said SNL has become very funny again. (I've been watching it all along..)

Sasso was ok on Less than Perfect & funny on MadTV.

I have been watching SNL, but I find myself fast forwarding through a LOT of it. They tend to have a facination thinking that being "unfunny" is a funny gag. It's not. Being obnoxious and weird isn't funny by itself either.

I prefer humor that is clever, or circles back on itself. In much the same way that HIMYM refers back on it's own cannon. I also like that they have a way of looking at things that I don't think of. Like the "Woo Girls" or the "Relationship Highway."

The "Debbie Downer" sketch isn't funny, and putting it on week after week, isn't making it any more funny.

To be fair, they haven't done Debbie Downer in a couple of years.

Could we please NOT turn this into an SNL thread? Please???

There's plenty of those to voice your SNL opinion in.

Now back to our regularly scheduled HIMYM thread. :)
