    What a great episode.

Poor Barney...in traction by the end of the episode.

    "Sinatra was born in Hoboken!"
"But what city did he sing about? It's not 'Secaucus, Secaucus'!"

Marshall: "And you never have to hold a cup again!"

"And kids, this is the way Aunt Robin swears it happened."

"Well that dog was probably flying high after swallowing a little E. Anyone? Anyone?"

I'm interested to see where the writers take this Ted relocation. It's obvious he loves Stella and her daughter.

It figures that the one thing that got Barney to cease his fist bumps/high fives was Robin's career news.

So, if last season's episode with the goat holds true, neither Ted nor Robin relocate...since those events take place on Ted's 31st birthday. And apparently Ted and Robin are living together.

    I enjoyed this episode a lot. :)

People keep saying they live together but we don't know that for sure. Only thing we know is Robin lives in the apartment. They never said anything about Ted still being there.

Well, technically it can hold true even if one or both relocate, as long as that relocation is less than a year.

In fact, Robin relocating temporarily to Japan could facilitate her moving into Ted's apartment when she bails on Japan. (Presumably she would either sell or lease her place out for her expected time in Japan, rendering it less than available when she returns early).

Ted relocating while still having the same apartment in a year is trickier to pull off, but he could move to Jersey short term and rent his apartment back to Lily and Marshal while they wait for their place to get un-slanted. Then the Jersey/Stella thing falls apart in under a year and he moved back in, shortly followed by Robin, while Lilly and Marshal move out.

Edit: or (if as mentioned above) Ted doesn't live there anymore, then ignore that part of my 2nd scenario, and keep scenario 1 + renting to Lilly and Marshall until after Robin moves in.

If he really relocates, this is almost a jump the shark moment.

Do people really feel that way about Jersey from NY?

Also, I may be missing something, but do they keep turning on and off the Barney-has-the-hots-for-Robin (had to look up her name in the rest of this thread) thing?

Sometimes he seems to be pining for her, sometimes he's not.

With proper diction, that joke would have been funnier with "Newark, Newark."
I don't think Ted would have trouble remembering what year it was if one year he lived there and the next year he didn't.

Suggesting "proper diction" alongside the pronunciations used by people in New Jersey is also rather humorous. ;)

Doesn't everyone who has ever visited Jersey from anywhere else feel that way? ;)

Am I the only one who found this episode not funny? Just me, okay then.

I'm right there with you. For me, being from NJ, listening to the same tired 'NJ sucks because...' jokes almost made me turn the TV off.

I don't think it was one of their stronger episodes.
