How do you report bugs so Tivo engineering in California sees them?

    Hi,

    I've been experiencing an issue for the past 3 years since 2017 software update.
    I have been with "support" for all this time, with no fix on the horizon.
    This is clearly a software bug, however I just cannot get them to even acknowledge it,
    much less take a look or fix this bug.
    I have specifically isolated this to Tivo Bolt and later, and not the cable company, cable card, tuning adapter, tv, cables, or any other peripherals.

    Does anyone have any suggestions how to break through the support "brick wall?"

    This thread is not "pure" (multiple issues in the same thread) but my issue
    is specifically about tivo not tuning in the sound portion of the recording,
    and not any doulby, PCM issues (not any kind of output issue)

    I don’t know. I occasionally have this issue. It seems to be limited to one or two channels. I try to keep one channel that I often record tuned to the channel on a tuner at all times which ameliorates the issue. A bug that’s intermittent would be very hard to identify, right? I suspect that unless TiVo gets flooded with a lot of complaints about an issue, it is just going to ignore it.

    Thanks for the reply. The frustrating thing is that I can reliably reproduce this issue after literally years of trying now.
    There has been times where I had this issue 50% of the time. Now it's down to 5% but who says that it's not going to
    go back to 50% or more in the future?
    I fear lots of people have this issue but they don't have time / energy to report it, or they get dismissed by support
    like I have been for years. That's why I am hoping there is a way to bypass the "support brick wall" somehow

    Do you use the TV speakers or some other sound system?
    I've had this happen to my S3 and Roamio, hdmi to TV, optical cable to Logitech Z-680 5.1 speaker system.

    There used to be a TiVo person on these forums, but I have not seen any posts now for a couple of years.

    Thanks for the reply. It's not the speakers or any other "output" issue. The issue comes up in recorded
    shows and is evident on the tivo app as well, TV speakers, PCM, other speakers, etc. i.e. "output" speakers
    or settings are irrelevant to to this issue,

    This is still an issue. Pinged Tivo customer support today and they said they would re-escalate it, whatever that means

    Success! Looks like the latest Bolt update 21.9.7.v7-USC-11-849 has resolved the issue as of today!
    Finally after 3 years!
