Maybe he gets hit by a car and she chokes him out.

Are they going to kill him off? Put him in prison? Replace him with another actor--ok that won't work for me. He's the star of the show. I can't see it being very good without him.

I think it could work with Robin Wright as the lead.
As far as wrapping up the series - it will be odd they won't be able to resolve it without referencing/flashbacking to the stuff that Frank Underwood has done and set in motion.
    I would definitely watch it.

    Definitely.

As for Spacey, I've wondered if they would ever sync up his character with the original British version of his character. They started off very similar, but naturally diverged as this House Of Cards went much longer and was written to the American political system.

I won't be as enthused about watching the final season. But I will still watch it. Plus it will only be eight episodes.

I have never finished or maybe never even started the latest season, and now I'm debating whether I even want to or not. If Spacey is still the prez maybe they can work in good assassination plot.

I think one thing working in the show's favor is that they've already been moving things into the direction of Claire being in the position of ultimate power. So seeing her take over fully at this point is not too far of a stretch in the narrative.

Yup... I agree.... It is one of the things I was thinking of when they made the initial decision to cancel the show... I was thinking "why? you've already pivoted the show's focus to Claire..."

I wonder if they are going to write a definitive ending, or if they will leave it open so that if the audiences love the pivot, they could continue without Spacey for a few more seasons...

They had already decided that S6 would be the end even before the Spacey stuff. I think shows run their course, and clearly the people involved with this one had decided that six seasons was a good stopping point.

That's good to know... At least they will be able to wrap things up nicely, knowing this is definitely "the end"... :)
