The one thing that has always bothered me about this show is that the characters that play the President all seem to be unsure of themselves and downright inept, with the exception of Beau Bridges. The current adviser to the President is just a sleazy weasel who's leading the President down a dead end road.

^ Agree. This season, the POTUS and his advisor are overly cartoonish, almost unwatchable for me.

I wish the advisor was cartoonish, but there have been too many people like him advising presidents over the past couple of decades...

If one overlooks the obvious made for TV nonsense, this season is fantastic.

I think the best one of the series.

So you’re saying it’s totally realistic.

I don't recall Homeland ever portraying the President until they brought it back Stateside in Season 6, and even then he (Keane's predecessor) only appeared in one or two scenes.
Obviously we had a lot of Keane/Warner last season.

I'm still unclear why Warner picked Hayes for his VP. There was a conversation earlier this season about Warner reaching across the aisle because the country was tearing itself apart. I guess that's the explanation. But Hayes would have his own CoS, who'd be in the room for all these meetings with Zabel and David (and David probably wouldn't be in the room any more).

Carrie will probably seduce Zabel in the finale to avert nuclear Armageddon. I wonder if the actors will have trouble making that convincing. :)

It's amazing how little on-screen chemistry some off-screen couples have...

The actor playing Zabel (Hugh Dancy) is married to Claire Danes.

The way Carrie just walked in and out of the CIA office (getting on the bike) and how she just walked in and out of a secure airbase was a bit unbelievable.

Yeah, totally "ignore the man behind the curtain" moments. I don't know how anyone, much less someone currently wanted by the FBI just waltzes onto a US Military base.

And I've complained before about the bike out of the loading dock before.

Good episode. Saul gives a speech to Jena (and after getting burned twice, helps Carrie a third time) about how Carrie does not lose sight of the goal, and will do whatever it takes, no matter what or who is in the way, and later realizes that he is in the way.

Well, I don't think Saul realizes he's in the way...because Carrie (typically) didn't let him know what was going on.

It has become increasingly bizarre to me how everybody on this show worships the ground Carrie walks on, no matter how much reason she gives them not to...
