Not that the Golden Globes really mean anything...

I'd say that Claire Danes has a lock, but Damian Lewis may not be able to beat Bryan Cranston - unless Cranston gets fewer votes because he always wins. I think Cranston did a better job anyway.

Danes definitely deserves it. Will be a crime if not.

I don't think Damian Lewis will win.

A shame Patinkin didn't get a supporting actor nod.

It looks like there is no Best supporting actor - Drama series category unless there is and they just don't list it.

I think it would be under TV-Movie or Mini-Series. Folks from Game of Thrones and Modern Family are there. I like Eric Stonestreet but no way he deserves a nod for Cam over Patinkin for Saul. :(

Danes and Cranston will win and they both deserve it.

I am glad that Madeline Stowe was nominated too but the combination of Danes acting and the writing or her show makes her a shoe in.

I'm surprised a cast member got nominated from the show Revenge. I think Madeline Stowe is a good actress, but that show is practically a soap opera and none of the material has demanded any really strong acting or been award worthy. When watching it I think of it more as a guilty pleasure.

It was a joke that they didn't receive SAG award nominations. I have no idea why they would get overlooked like that.

I am happy that Homeland got a much deserved nomination for best drama, but it is beyond ridiculous that Breaking Bad did not get nominated.

President Obama just mentioned that he likes watching "Boardwalk Empire" and "Homeland," even as they don't allow the girls to go on Facebook.

One actor that should be recognized that those here won't like: The reviled Paz De La Huerta kicked butt with her self-delivery on Boardwalk Empire. She realizes she's on her own and combs her hair and makes ready...

I wish I was a high level politician, then most laws wouldn't apply to me. Even if the police/FBI tried to investigate my illegal activities chances are my fellow politicos would throw a fit about about the fact the FBI, which falls under a different branch of government (or if I was president I could stop the investigation), is investigating one of their own and cry so loudly the investigation would just go away.

Well, this is the Golden Globes, not the Emmys. It doesn't surprise me.

Additionally, isn't Emily really the lead? I'm more surprised at Callie Thorne.

I love Julianna Margulies, and Madeline Stowe is fun to watch, but I think Maria Bello deserved a nod this year. However Danes should walk away with this category.

But nobody watches Prime Suspect. No surprise she didn't get nominated.

Glad I'm not the only one to notice what an amazing actress she is! She puts a totally original spin on what could be a cliched character. And of course, she's also drop-dead gorgeous.

I'm interested to see if she can play other kinds of characters. I think she could have a great career in front of her.

I laughed when I saw her on the list. I've never seen the show but a lot of people talk about and it comes up a lot online and it definitely is regarded as a "guilty pleasure" soap. I don't know anything about her acting or whether or not it's credible, I just find it funny that these awards guys will include people from a prime time soap but still refuse to acknowledge the sometimes-incredible acting done on "sci-fi" or "cult favorite" type shows.

I'd put John Noble up against the best actor noms any day--that guy fully embodies Walter Bishop from head to toe. That gets disregarded while Hugh Laurie is recognized constantly for House. Just sayin'.

I'd also put Sarah Michele Gellar's performance in "The Body" up there too. No fluff, no camp... Hell at least give Joss a shout out for Writing on that one (at least he got one for "Hush").

I just wish they'd just recognize performances regardless of what genre the show is.

And re: Homeland, definitely deserved. Sometimes I'm not sure about Danes because she uses the "bug eyed shocked expression" too much, and I can't tell if she's a good actor or out of her league... she comes across as an immature idiot in her over head in some scenes, but then in other scenes she blows it away so I'm sure it's just part of the character. I haven't seen her in enough stuff to know how much different this is from her other roles.

Lewis is definitely deserved though. That guy's all over the map emotionally and he nails it every time. Patinkin I think is too understated and that's why he's not on the list.. I haven't seen the last three episodes so I'm not sure if anything will change my opinion, but at this point it doesn't really seem like he's reaching too deep to play Saul.

Still trying to figure out WTF "American Horror Story" is doing in the best drama race... I thought that was a really long typo. Ok show and interesting to watch but it's a total train wreck as far as story, plausibility, and coherence go. Walking Dead? The Killing (despite the last episode)? Dexter? Literally anything on TV?

It's just as baffling as last year when they had Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in the Musical or Comedy category for "The Tourist"... huh?
