Think about this: if Brody were still a Marine, he might not get complete access to the VP or other VIPs. If he were a member of Congress, well, it doesn't take much imagination to see how much havoc a committed person, who could bypass many security checkpoints, could inflict.

And if Brody was to become VP, that office is just a heartbeat away from the Presidency ...

The VP on that tape didn't claim that no kids were killed. He claimed that the US didn't send the missile, and that therefore, the terrorists planted the bomb themselves and were just blaming it on the US to garner sympathy.

Exactly! I was going to post this as well if no-one else did!

I also believe turning Walker and Brody was part of the plan. They know that someone will get captured and/or talk about a POW being turned. Walker is a smoke-screen for the long-game Nazir is playing, have someone in the White House.

Think about it, what does the US do when a foreign country is a threat and it's government is as well? Try to overthrow the government and get a pro-US government in place...

I have always wondered why muslim extremists never think big like that, some of them have the money, so why not try. Why even bother turning people when you can even buy them, etc., etc.

Seriously, I am glad they do not think like that, but still...

I was thinking this too. They never showed much affection between Nazir and the boy did they, and the boy seemed scared of him when the table fell over and seemed starved for affection.

It's hard to imagine that the whole bombed out school was an hallucination, but it's possible.

Nicholas is definitely more intimate than his wife calling him Brody--that's just weird.

Man, I have hearing problems. I took it as the VP saying AQ was lying about it being a school that was hit and children were killed but it was being reported from the start as being a missile from a US drone.

I can rewatch on demand and check.

Patty Hearst remained brainwashed/turned after being kidnapped and then essentially released. She wasn't alone and free but she was walking the streets carrying a gun - so she could have gained her freedom if she wanted to. Even after she was arrested and safely in jail, and during her trial, she continued to voice her support for her kidnappers. Her kidnappers were the terrorists of that day.

For the youngsters in the group: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patty_Hearst

That's not how I remember it. Hopefully netringer will report back. As I recall, they claimed to have hit a facility linked to Abu Nazir and others and that reports that it was full of school children are propoganda from Al Qaeda and false.

Nazir's house was right next to the school, wasn't it? Brody seemed to just go out the door and be there. So, if you're a wanted terrorist why would you live next door to a school?

I took it as being inside some secured area of the city, but if you wanted a safe place for your AQ HQ a school is second best next to a Mosque. The military had firm orders to not attack Mosques. The same could apply to a Madrassa.

There are those military weapons surveillance videos showing the bad running into Mosques like roaches running from the kitchen light while the crew gets the order DO NOT FIRE on that building.

One new thought: In "The Weekend" Brody asks Carrie, "The CIA thinks I'm a terrorist?!!" and she says, "I still do."

Now that we know that Brody is turned he could have tipped off Aby Nazir and the diplomat that Carrie is a threat and that the CIA are watching him.

My try for the psychic award: I also predict we're going to see another double twist where Brody tries to stop Walker - as I predicted before - and help them get him.

    More specifically:

    "The CIA thinks I'm al-Qaeda?!?

    "I think you're al-Qaeda!"

Yep. Rob got it right. I'm amused that Damien said "Al Kay Da" like he has a midwest accent. I wonder why the director didn't try to help him with that.

    I rewatched Ep 7 and 9.

I forgot that when Brody is sleeping next to Carrie tossing and screaming he says, "Issa! Where are you?! Godammit!"

Then he tells Carrie that Issa was a kind guard.

The VP says "A drone missile was launched against a compound 150 miles north of Moysa(?) in Iraq believed to be the location of IPL terrorist Abu Nazzir..."

The actor is British. I think he has done an outstanding job with his American accent (you should hear him in some of his BBC performances!). His pronunciation didn't bother me. Do we even know where Brody is from?

Well, lately he's from Iraq. You'd think that during eight years of Al-Qaeda's hospitality, he would have picked up some tips on pronunciation. :D

Maybe not. My mom still can't pronounce her last name properly (it's an Indian name).

I know. I wonder if Damien has a dialect coach on set. Maybe by now, after playing an American on 3-4 American TV series, he's considered an old pro at sounding American.
