Imagine how crappy this miniseries must be if History decided to not air it. The history based network that's proud of shows like Ice Road Truckers, Monster Quest and Ax Men says the biopic on the Kennedy family is unfit for its brand.

The jokes have already been made of course, but I just found this line from the article hilarious. "We have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand."

The History brand of Truckers, Ax Men, Pawn Store owners, Aliens and predictions of the future.

So, 50,000 people who never saw the show or the script sign a petition to stop it all because another film maker has decided he doesn't like how it portray's the Kennedy's and History Channel caves.

    Nothing to see here.

Reelz Channel has picked up the rights to this show and it will debut on April 3rd.

What I'm trying to figure out is if the show will air on Sundays only (like Shameless) or if it will be spread across multiple nights (like Roots back in the day).

    Anyone have any idea?

That doesn't mean they can't sneak some in there!

Is the Kennedy family still such a sacred cow in the USA that no one can do something like this?

I don't think so. I remember when Kennedy's son was killed in a plane accident and they covered it a lot on my local channels (Los Angeles area) then someone eventually commented that the media was mostly east coast and the west probably didn't care very much about all of this. All I would have needed was an announcement that he had died and a newspaper article on how he died with an obituary. No I don't think the Kennedys are a big deal anymore.
I think History channel did not want criticism due to some of the things the show said that didn't exactly pass historical muster. Since I have never even heard of the channel it is going to be shown on, I figure my cable company will not be delivering this to me.

I don't think Reelz has a very high distribution level yet. It's a fairly new channel and it is digital cable only.

I'm assuming that the question is rhetorical.
