Hoping a new owner can help me w/ one problem I'm having.

Caller ID will not work, have checked phone line, has dial tone & setting is correct.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

The new HD DirecTivo does not have this because there's no phone call required as part of the initial setup. Like the HR2x DirecTV DVRs, the THR22 gets all of its guide and account information from the satellite stream. Phone line is only used for Caller ID and to report PPV purchases, but that can also happen via an internet connection.

Inside "Messages and Settings" go to "Settings" then to "Displays" then "Caller ID" Check "Yes"

I don't have Caller ID, so I don't know if it works, but I did see it.

Did it, still dosen't work. I was wondering if anyone else has run across this malfunction.

Called D* tech, no help, sending out tech tomorrow, hope it isn't the same guy that came out for the install, never seen a Tivo before. I did the entire set-up.

Caller ID feature has always been rather "hit-or-miss" with the DirecTV DVRs. Since the underlying platform is the same as the HR22, it might simply not work with your phone system's Caller ID feature. What sort of phone service do you have? Do you have DSL internet? Did you attach a DSL filter to the Tivo's phone jack?

    It works!

I unplugged the receiver, rebooted and now works.
    Thanks to all that replied.
