    Hello all,

So I've been doing some reading on here the past few days (awesome site) and have a basic understanding of the tivo tools at our disposal thanks to this great community.

My HDD failed so I bought a replacement (AV-GP). The new drive I will be using is 1TB. I have a clean image to use and just want to confirm I go about the correct steps.

My understanding is that I need to first use DvrBARS to copy my clean image to the new HDD, then use JMFS to expand the drive so that my Premiere will be able to read a 1TB drive.

I'll also use wdidle3.exe first to disable the idle timer of the drive before I do any of the above. Or do I do this last because wdidle3.exe doesn't work on unformatted drives?

Is all of the above about right?

    Thank you very much.

I sent you another image that's already expanded to 1TB. That should eliminate the JMFS step and save you some time.

What's the model number of the drive? If it's truly an AV-GP drive you can skip wdidle3 as well, but WD hasn't made them in several years. If you do need to disable the idle timer you can do it at any time before putting the drive in your TiVo.

You were right, it already had the idle timer disabled :)

Just so I know for the future? Did I have the correct order for the operations - Use DvrBars first to restore the image to the drive, then after that use JMFS via boot disk/USB to expand the drive?

    Thank you much.
