    Hi all,

I am interested in getting a Tivo and a one or two year plan for
my Father for Father's Day. He does NOT have cable or Satellite,
but just off-the-air antenna (non-hi def).

TiVo's web site gives me the impression that the dual tuner machines
do not work with off-the-air analog channels. Can anyone confirm or
    deny this statement?

Also, what is the best deal out there for a brand new Tivo customer
for both a single tuner and a dual tuner Tivo unit?

The dual tuner series2 will not work with antenna, so if you want to buy from TiVo you are stuck with a series3. Supposedly there will be a $200 rebate coming up near the end of this month.

Your other alternative is to pick up a new or used series one or two in the aftermarket.

Yeah! Search eBay for TiVo Series 2. Unsubbed they're ridiculously cheap!

In fact I've got one I'd like to get rid of. Send me a Private Message. But you might get close to as good a deal on eBay. Mine's an 80GB Series 2 which works fine but...send me a message.

You can still buy a new single tuner from places like this sites store

They cost about $40 after rebate plus what ever subscription you get him (3 year prepaid is $299 and is the best deal).

The problem with OTA analog is that it is going to be shut down spring of 2009. There will be low cost OTA digital convert boxes but at this point we don't know if TiVo is going to support them.

    Good Luck,
