No surprise here with Andrea getting the boot.

Scott got more airtime than all of the other episodes combined.

Could we see a future Hell's Kitchen wedding between Jean-Philippe & Paula? (I doubt it).

Paula (at least to me) seems to go the other way...not that there's anything wrong with that!

I think they both do. Which made the scene funnier. :)

She cleans up real nice. I never thought of the other aspect though. Intriguing.

    Andrea bitchslapping Scott was hilarious.

Pretty much as it should be for the final. Paula FTW.

I did feel bad for Danny in that first chefs seating challenge. That's the sort of situation where you are wishing with all your heart that the earth would just open up and swallow you.
But the right final two for sure.

I just can't believe all the tasting. You can't taste every dish that comes through a restaurant in an evening can you? After 10 minutes I wouldn't know what I was eating.

The "mistakes" were stagier than I remember. They used to simulate actual mistakes that could happen in a kitchen, but this time they substituted squash puree for carrot puree and spinach soup for watercress soup, things that would only happen if your kitchen staff were actively trying to trick you.

I think the right two people are in the final two, but I'm all about Paula for the win. :)

with her tude i knew the local girl wouldnt win, but still think dan has a chance. tough one though with his age

i dont understand that...are they trying to say everyone at a table gets an appetizer? that cant be right because everyone doesnt get appetizers every time. heck if you eat one you usually dont have enough room for the meal

she was being honest and factual...just didnt give the answer he was looking for

In reality you're right, not everyone orders an appetizer but I think on the show they all do.

I would assume it's a prix fixe menu, where everyone gets one appetizer, one entree and one desert.

I think at Hell's Kitchen they have what is termed a prix fixe menu. In real life, at some nice restaurants, you will pay one price, and get a fixed number of courses. The minimum is usually three, and there you would get a choice of one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. Since all three are included in the price, usually everyone would get one of each course. Even if you only take one bite of your appetizer, you are paying for it. Some prix fixe menus have five courses, some have seven, and for tasting menus you might have even more.

For example, at the French Culinary Institute, they offer:
"The $42, five-course prix fixe dinner menu includes appetizer, fish course, meat course, salad, and dessert."

You don't need to eat everything in every course. This is fine dining. Not clean your plate, get the most food for your money dining.

Wow. Next you'll be telling me you believe these are everyday people out for a meal!

The 'diners' are extras and someone said that a lot of the food is actually supplied by outside caterers! They order what they're told to order and get up and leave when the producers tell them to. You don't actually think that the people who go up to the counter and are shouted at by Gordon are real (in the restaurant customer sense), do you?

What are you ranting about? ;)

I don't think anyone has stated otherwise. This show is just a restaurant simulation with actors as diners and a tightly controlled script. Has anyone stated otherwise?

Enjoy the show for what it is. Nobody is naive enough to believe everything is real.
