I'm positive I've seen various soccer games on live, network TV before. World Cup, Olympics, etc. I think Fox has even aired English Premiere League games before.

Not live? Yeah it is. It's on my TV right now. Second half.. Playing extra time, actually. It's almost over.

Not all FOX locals are running it live,

WXIN (Fox59) are only at 42mins of the 1st half right now.

If you are a Man City or Spurs fan, yes. I would imagine it was a pain to get up at 6am PST to watch that game on FSC.

It was supposed to be the first Barclays Premier League game broadcast live on network TV.

However, Fox 5 Atlanta showed it at 1pm - and in SD!

    So, a very justfied...

The only games I remember Fox ever showing were UEFA Champions League finals. (Manchester United played Chelsea in the 2008 final, but I don't think Fox started airing them until 2010, and even then, they may not have been live; one report says that the 2012 final will be the first time Fox airs it live.)

ESPN and the regional Fox Sports Networks have aired FA Cup Finals live, but the key point was this was the first time a Premier League match has been on network TV.

I'm sure they used to have the NASL games on ABC back in the day. I'm sure that I remember Pele, Beckenbauer, Chinaglia and the New York Cosmos on TV, no?

Nevermind, reading the article it doesn't state first live match on US TV -- it's the first Premiere League match on live US TV.

It would be great if they would show all the big matches on either Fox or ESPN so I could drop Fox Soccer and save 13 bucks a month!
Well I guess ESPN would have to get Champions League back too.
