I live in the boonies and get terrible ABC and FOX reception, even with my huge antenna, new RG6QS cables, and 10-30db amp. Because of this, I called DirecTV to apply for NY/LA feed wavers for ABC and FOX. I use an HR10-250, but I don't subscribe to the HD package. My question is this -- if I am granted the wavers and get the NY/LA feeds, will I get them in HD too, or just low/standard definition?

You should get only the NY HD feeds (since you are in the midwest). You DO NOT need to subscribe to the HD package.
