    So HD Locals are available in the Detroit Market (although I had to tell the dtv rep that they do offer it to Detroit and not just from OTA{to which they were surprised})

    So what do I need dish/lnb-wise to to this?
    I had heard that I would need a larger dish and have 5, yes FIVE, lnb units on the dish.

    Can anyone advise on this?

    Tinley...
    You need the 5LNB AT9 Dish
    And an H20...

    Currently there are no DVRs that can access the HD Local-In-Local feeds
    The HR20 is "expected" in Q2 or Q3 of this year (which would be the DVR capable of HD Locals)

    Look in the HD Forum, for plenty of chatter.
    Or www.dbstalk.com (in the DirecTV HD Forum) or Satguys... or do a search on Google for "DirecTV 5LNB" or "Directv AT9"

    Ok great! Thanx

    So my next question is;

    Will the HD local channels over the Sat be more compressed over 'premium' HD channels like the SD locals we all can receive now?

    I have yet to see a real life display of this configuration to determine if its worth investing into.

    From what I have seen... the MPEG-4 look almost as good as the ones I get via OTA.
