It's just really odd for a Stephen King story. Usually, it's the main character who figures it out first, and has to convince everybody else. This time, it's the other way around.

Yes, it is odd but refreshing.

I guess I missed it, but why is the parking lot security guard a supercop who is able to make critical discoveries for the case?

In the book, did the relationship between him and Holly make more sense? Maybe it's the actors, but I don't see any chemistry between them and I don't see why they'd be a couple.

Don't know about "supercop," but he's a former police detective who IIRC had to exit law enforcement for some reason.

There is? Could you elaborate? The only unexpected thing that happened at the fair, AFAIK, was Coco (as Claude) fails in his abduction attempt.

I assume he means the public revelation of fake-Claude, which confirms to all the investigators that Holly's deranged theory is true. That's a pretty huge step forward, plot-wise.

Ok, I guess that's a revelation to some of the investigative team, but that's basically what Holly expected (as you said), and it was definitely telegraphed to us, the audience.

Yes the reveal that "Outsider" Claude was photographed at the fair. This not a spoiler thread, but I guess it is now...LOL

Seems like there have been plenty of spoilers in this thread already. It's not a no-spoilers thread!

I always saw it as a series thread (since it's just a one-season show, it wouldn't have individual season threads).

It really should have the title changed. It seems too late to go back and ask people to spoilerize, so it should have SPOILERS in the thread title.

I think the convention on this forum has been that spoilers are the default, at least for season and episode threads. So that, along with the fact that others have posted details from episodes, is why I figured this was a spoiler thread. Putting "SPOILERS" in the title might clear up some confusion, though, I guess.

I've asked the mods to tweak the title. Don't know if they'll do it when I'm not the OP.

Latest episode had an unsettling cross-over to reality with discussion of the Spanish Flu.

I thought the 1947 flashbacks were really dragging. I try not to multitask while watching shows like this, but I kept looking at my phone during those scenes. Otherwise, I thought it was a good episode. They just should have had one scene where Claude's brother tells the story about the cave, and then the flashbacks should have been completely eliminated, IMO.

I think they dragged a bit but I was confused at first that they were even flashbacks. I just thought they were poor people by their clothes. Oops.

I was pretty sure it was a flashback because of the clothing. The 25¢ admission to the caves cinched it.

There was also the color tinting, which was a bit subtle but exactly the kind of thing that traditionally represents "old timey" scenes.
